What can a student with 2 gap years do to strengthen their profile for universities abroad?

A friend of mine graduated high school 1 year ago. During the first gap year, they prepared for JEE, and now they're planning to take another gap year to prep for SAT/English proficiency exams and working on international university applications.

"my_qualifications" (which is they're ofc) (75% in 12th pcm and 96%ile jee mains) They’re aiming for bachelor’s programs abroad and are worried about how universities might view the gap years.

  1. How are 2 gap years generally viewed by universities abroad? Especially in italy
  2. Does preparing for competitive exams like JEE and SAT count as a valid explanation for the gap years?
  3. What else can they do during the second gap year to strengthen their profile?
  4. Would certifications, internships, volunteering, projects, or part-time work help significantly?
  5. Should they directly explain the gap years in the SOP/personal statement?
  6. Has anyone here successfully gotten into international universities after 2 gap years?

Would appreciate honest advice and real experiences from applicants or students currently studying abroad.

Hi, so im applying to bba/bcom/ba (economics) programs at colleges affiliated to goa university, and just wanted to know how life is like for queer people in these colleges. I'm a femboy, im okay with not being openly femboy in college and in the city, but i do have long hair and often get mistaken for a girl. I don't want to experience ragging or bullying, and i don't want to cut my hair. Can someone tell me about their experiences, or experiences of someone they know? also im not native to goa, incase that changes the situation. thanks for reading ❤️
