Really going out on a limb here..

I’m a 29 F who’s not in the homesteading world yet, but have been interested nearly my whole life. I do patio gardening, am very frugal and can make a mean sourdough but that’s about it. I’ve taken a good look at my life and feel deep down this is not the life I want to live. I realize it would be much easier to homestead with a partner and I came here to ask.. are there any homesteading/wannabe homesteading dudes on here looking for a partner? 😂 I feel crazy for writing this but might as well try
Edit: I live in Ohio and currently work as a nurse

Can’t draw blood to save my life

I’m an Lpn at a primary care clinic that just got a lab. I shadowed a phlebotomist for a couple hours and was able to get every stick. I have gotten my coworkers without any problem. But I cannot get a patient to save my life. It’s really getting me down and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I know what to do, where to poke but nothing comes out. Already have thrown a lamp (at home) and cried over this lmfao. I’m left handed if that makes any difference. At the training we used the regular needles but I’ve been trying to use butterfly thinking they were easier, but maybe I should switch back

Is there one way to eat healthy in your opinion, or does genetics and environment play a large role in the ideal diet for a person?

I’m a nurse that works with a very specific south asian population. They eat very little animal products, lots of fruits and vegetables, and lots of rice and oily/fried foods. Except for the oil a lot of people may look at their diet and think it’s pretty healthy. But this population has very high rates of diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, as well as nutritional deficiencies such as iron, folate, b12 and vitamin D. I’ve also noticed a high rate of pretty severe joint pain and osteoporosis in post menopausal women. I feel almost guilty because despite being overweight and eating the standard American diet my labs are great. I am transitioning to a more keto like diet because I generally feel the best when I eat animal products and low carbs. Do I feel best eating animal products because I’m mostly of Celtic/nordic descent and my ancestors have been eating that for generations? Or would most people feel better eating like that? Why do some diets work for some and not for others? Is it genetic or something else? This population avoids beef especially due to religious reasons but even though their ancestors have been eating this way for a long time they still are suffering nutritional related health problems

Could I potentially drive full time with a newborn?

I’m currently a nurse at a doctors office and drive part time. I just found out that I’m pregnant. The dad probably will not be involved too much and I don’t want to rely too much on family. I won’t be able to afford daycare so I was thinking about driving full time with the baby in the car after theyre here, and picking up nursing shifts when I have childcare. Has anyone done anything like this before with a newborn? Any advice is appreciated
