Inquired about a 26 Si on the dealers website and got a call not too long after. Over the phone I'd say thing seemed alright. I basically said that I'm not fully sure if I want the SI, I'm not ready to buy or talk numbers. I'm cross shopping other vehicles like the WRX and Mazda3 hatch and would like a test drive first. He agreed to allow me to come in and test drive and we set up a time. When I got there the car was in the showroom which immediately made me think they were not going to let me test drive. Which they didn't. They said I would have to have my credit ran first and be a serious buyer, because these cars are rare and we don't get too many per year. Like seriously? Then we ended up running some estimated payments. Supposedly the average interest rate this dealer gives is like 11% which is insane.
After I pretty much said thanks but no thanks they tried to sell me on a 24 Si which they are listing for 30k. Had 20k miles on it. I pretty much had to walk out after that. The 24's brand new were right at 30k minus delivery and destination.
Curious to see if anyone else has had an experience like this.
