Ok so i don't have a ton to say, I'm just curious about some opinions/plot points.

So i discovered this series through the netflix movie, which i loved. And clearly the book is different which i expected. But like...the very big glaring thing to me is...why is the ending one paragraph??????

like...i read it on the XTEInk X4 so the last chapter was 35 pages, but the actual like "leaving the school" part was done in essentially a single paragraph on the final page. they just straight up did the vanishing guy meme and that was it??? like am i missing a chapter on my epub or is that really how the first book ends!?

aside from that i did enjoy reading the book, im curious if in later books they explain Agatha's ability to restore the failed kids, i know they SORTA explained that it's cuz she's pure or whatever but i feel like it needed more explanation?

also the tone change in the last few chapters to like the school apocalypse and hundreds of students falling in bottomless pits to their death and the school master looking like a lich was such a tone shift it caught me off guard but i liked it.

the other thing that bothers me is it felt like the "villain" of the school master had like...no build up? like we got his general introduction at the beginning, then them meeting him, then them learning he once had a brother, then suddenly he's revealed to be the mastermind of some grand scheme no one knew was a scheme? XD like idk the movie felt better with him than the book did.

I'm now kinda torn on if i wanna continue reading the series, especially cuz like...i know the author is lgbtq+ as am i, but the books legit feel so backwards considering that? like...agatha becoming good by smiling and all that feels so like "no lesson was truely learned" ?? like in the movie the teachers revealed they hate that Good has become so vain and agatha is a unique breed of good but in the book its so downplayed and washed over when she realizes she was never ugly. then the whole "if a princess doesnt get asked to the ball she fails but boys dont fail if they are rejected" like theres so much misogyny and the like in here. not saying that the author is misogynistic or anything, i just mean like...why make those points so heavy if they arent gunna be resolved or challenged??? like even in the end when tedros is like "a REAL princess would never question my manhood" like that NEVER got thrown back in his face that he was wrong and it bothers me immensely...

idk these are my takes lol, i would love to be educated/corrected/informed in the comments so feel free to give me your thoughts. thanks!
