What movie adaptation absolutely nailed the casting?

I'll start things off with Watchmen. I especially didn't expect Billy Crudup to play such a detached Dr. Manhattan, and I had no idea who Jackie Earl Haley was prior to the movie.

An "easier" pick would be something like Lord of the Rings, but I do think (for the sake of discussion) that shouldn't necessarily count since Jackson decided to change the ages of the characters so much. Don't yell at me, just trying to get the discussion going!
