Context: My parents and I know very little about cars and I barely drive myself as is at 18.

Recently my mother blew her tire on our 2020 Toyota Corrola on the road and absolutely shredded it. After watching a couple of youtube videos we managed to switch it with our spare and this random guy, who had offered to help us, said he would trash the old wheel for us at a dumpster outback. Me and my parents, knowing nothing about wheels, said yes and they guy went off down the street. After driving on a spare we went to the Toyota office near us and until they asked us for the rim, it didn't click. The guy there said it would cost us $1000+ for new wheels, and atp we can't afford that for now. Is there any place cheaper where we could buy new wheels?

TL;DR: My parents and I uknowngly gave our old wheel to a random guy after he helped us change our flat tire and, now we have to buy new rims and a tire.
