About 2 years ago, I noticed a unilateral lesion/change in the area of the base of the tongue/tonsil, which has not gone away since then and seems to have grown slightly. It is mildly sensitive when swallowing saliva, however I do not feel it while eating or drinking — it is more like a constant foreign body sensation. Could you please tell me what this might be and how it can be treated? Thank you.
