Business owner looking to shift markets into MTG/Pokemon etc (Xpost from MagicTCG)
I own a unit suitable for about 100 patrons with tables and chairs. It's a store front/venue that I rent out for events. I've had it for a few years and I was flirting with the idea of turning it into a LGS. I have a handful of successful businesses so I'm not worried about turning a profit. This is just a passion project for my own space as there are no sit down LGSs within 30 min in any direction and the first closest is a dump. It's located in a heavily populated area with heavy foot traffic so I would expect that within a year it should stabilize.
My question is about distribution. I've been reading for the last week about people describing their experiences with distributors (ACD/GTS/Southern) but they are always vague. After you submit an application how long does it take to get approval and then your first order and how much are you realistically expected to layout on your first few purchases? And if you are approved how many allocations is a brand new account allotted?
What else should I know before I get the ball rolling?
