GMX Comprex using Allos/Velox as fusion material

Do Allos/Velox count as both Dinosaur & GMX for the 3+/4+/5+ Dinosaur materials used effects? Since the are GMX monsters that are Dinosaur type. Or are they only a GMX or a Dinosaur with player choice for the individual materials? Like declaring Velox as GMX & then Allos as a Dinosaur when using them as materials for Comprex?

Testing GMX post BLZD

Finally getting around to testing the new cards despite getting them a week ago. This is not meant to be a competitive list, just one of the few I’m switching between while getting a feel for the new cards. I think leaning into Jurrac provides the most competitive value but I’m trying out a UCT focused build that sets up Comprex late game to sweep.

The new fusion spell Experiment Report is great for unbricking a starting hand & effect dodging. 2 copies is better for unbricking but 1 is better overall to minimise clogging up your opening hand.

Selandea is a good extender & an additional way to special summon a Daneen from hand. 1-2 copies seems like the sweet spot.

Suppression Squad is a good extender for adding more consistency to making Evolved Daneen & Evolzars. Pretty good at 1 copy.

Evolved Daneen is great. Tutors a GMX card. Gives you LP & can revive from GY when you excavate via GMX cards. Can fusion into Velox with Experiment Report to dodge an effect & give you an additional 1-2 interactions on the opponent’s turn.

Comprex is not a turn 1 card. It’s easiest to summon with 4 dino minimum by using Noma (material from field, GY or banishment!). Summoning Dogoran to the opponent’s field triggers Noma. Lost World tokens do as well but I’m not running it or using Kaito, Horned & Deployment get it on field. Or Metamorphosis & Geo Kraken alternatively.

UCT & Comprex on field together uninterrupted means you win unless they have a tower monster unaffected by other cards or monster effects. 1000-5000LP from UCT clearing monsters & 3700x3 from Comprex directly attacking is overkill.

I’ve been running x2 Nibiru, x3 D.D Crow. x3 Illusion Gate, x3 Mask of Restrict, x3 MST & x1 Jurrac Impact in the side deck atm.

Overall GMX isn’t going to be a tier 0 threat. Still fun & has new tricks. Much easier to set up a decent board now.

RDA Blazing Dominion

Brought RDA to locals after testing a little online recently with all new stuff. Deck feels really good & the added consistency is wonderful. Against decks like Blackwing & BEWD for example I just demolished with typical RDA aggro. More layered boards were an issue to play into going 2nd. Magnets for example were especially difficult to play against since they can turn all face up monsters into Earth, having bounces, monster pops (with steal) & negates.

As usual, not running Illusion Gate since I expect it to be pointed soon. Was sorely missing the play-set of Raigeki the previous deck build had. Book of Eclipse was decent & Gravity Collapse in main deck can be a rude shock for the opponent.

Hypernova doesn’t seem worth the resource investment after testing, despite the lines barely being harder than for Supernova. Which is why I didn’t opt to run it.

Overall I didn’t do much testing of the new stuff prior to it coming out TCG side, so there’s optimisations to be made. I did try Branded synchro package in testing but the conflicting locks & points made it not worthwhile if trying to use synchro Ecclesia. Without that card, FotWD & x3 Ecclesia & x1 Kitt is fine for extra engine into Crimson King.
