A mystery issue, high pitch frequency

I just recently bought a Reverend guitar and I love it, it's amazing. However, I have a very annoying issue that I cannot seem to track down the cause of. On only the high E string, open and every fret, and mostly noticeable in the middle position and neck, there is a very high pitch frequency that is only avoidable if I very lightly pick the string. I am going to make a list of things I've tried to rule out possible questions:

  1. I set up the guitar. Intonation, string height adjustment, neck relief, 10-46 strings like from the factory (Elixirs). No major buzzing issues anywhere, no dead frets, strings ring out with good sustain. Trem is floating as it should be.

  2. I have dampened the springs for the trem.

  3. I have adjusted the string higher and lower with no change.

  4. I have checked the bridge saddle and notice nothing unusual. Same with the nut.

  5. I have adjusted pickup height lower and higher, no significant change.

So I'm not sure where to go from here, it's really really odd and not something I have experienced on my other guitars. I am attaching an audio example. You should be able to tell how much louder and shriller it is than the other notes. It didn't pick up on the phone as well as I'd like, but it hopefully gives you an idea, it's the high note in the riff I'm playing.

Thanks for any help.

A couple months ago I saw an interesting wood that was unusual to see (at least where I am) used for a pallet. I decided to cut some pieces off and see what I could do with it. It's really pretty wood.

A friend of mine who lives about 14 hours away, who is a songwriter, would like for me to record electric guitar for a couple of his songs on his new album. I have limited experience recording, and I don't currently have any recording software.

So I have two questions,

  1. Are there any recommended free programs that I can record my Line 6 Helix with.

  2. How do I record the tracks in such a way he can drop them into his software and they be in the right spots? I'll be playing at different points in the songs, and multiple different parts such as rhythm and leads, and recording those on separate tracks.

To clarify question 2, I want to make sure that if I have separate recordings within a track, that when I save them, and my friend drops them into his program they will be exactly where they were when I was recording them to his track.

I have a PC.

Thanks for any help

I've wanted a reverend for a while because I really like the modern/classic style blend that they have. And when I heard about the type of sound that the Railhammer pickups had I knew that I would really like them. And this guitar is truly great, Reverend guitars deserve the small amount of hype they get and more. It's very satisfying to play and only needed a basic setup which I did myself.

Sweetwater had this one as an open box for 400 dollars off because of a tiny little hair in the finish, so I got an amazing deal as well.

My old boss ordered a pen from me, it is a Vertex Supreme kit with End Grain of Mahogany for the wood.

This is kind of a vent, but Penn State used to let you use your rewards no matter what you were spending, but now you have to spend a certain amount to even use them. I have over 1000 points and I can't even use the 40 dollars off for 600 points without spending at least 120. And I think that is really annoying and makes it less worth it to order from them at all.
