I built a cold email SaaS. Please roast it.

(Founder here)

Been building XSendFlow solo for a few months. It's live, has a forever free tier, and I'm at the point where I need honest outside feedback more than encouragement.

What it does:

- You upload a CSV of leads, AI scrapes each lead's website and writes a personalized email just for them

- Sends through your own SMTP accounts so you stay in control of deliverability

- Has warmup, bounce detection, reply inbox, open/click tracking, sequences

- Send worker runs on a VPS, not serverless, so bulk sending doesn't time out

What I genuinely want to know:

- Does the AI personalization via website scraping sound useful or gimmicky to you?

- Is "bring your own SMTP" a feature or a friction point for non-technical users?

- What would make you actually trust a new cold email tool over the established ones?

Don't hold back. If something sounds stupid, say it. I'd rather hear it now.

Update from my last post. Done feeling sorry for myself. Now I want to build something. What problem in your business has no good solution yet?

Posted here a few days ago about losing everything after five years of SEO work. Got a lot of genuine replies, thank you.

Sitting with it and realized the answer was in front of me the whole time.

I spent five years fixing problems for other businesses. I know what broken looks like. I know what no good tool looks like.

So now I want to build something instead of selling my time.

One question for business owners here:

What is something in your business that is still running on WhatsApp forwards, a notebook, or a phone call that drives you crazy and has no proper solution? or any manual work or repetitive or tough task you wish was automated!

five years on this platform. top rated. did real work, real results, never had a serious complaint.

then one day the account got flagged. raised a complaint through support. nothing. no explanation, no response, just gone.

i tried starting fresh with a new account. bought connects, sent proposals, attached real case studies and proof of past work. but a fresh account is a nobody here regardless of what you have done before. just burned through connects with nothing to show for it.

and the clients that do respond now want a full job done for almost nothing. feels like the platform has changed completely from what it was even two years ago.

has anyone actually managed to get their account reinstated after something like this. or found a way to rebuild on here without the history. genuinely asking because i have no idea if it is even worth trying anymore.

i don't even know how to explain this without sounding like i am complaining so bear with me.

five years of actual work. grew real businesses, have the data to prove it. but every single client belonged to someone else. platforms, agencies, middlemen. i did the job, they kept the relationship.

Upwork flagged my account out of nowhere. five years, top rated, gone. raised a complaint, got nothing back.

tried everything after that. cold email, video outreach, built my own email tool from scratch just to save money. borrowed money for a course everyone was hyping, finished it and realized it was just youtube with better lighting.

i work overseas so the second someone sees where i am from they have already decided. does not matter what i show them.

i know what i did wrong. spent five years building other peoples names and not my own. that is on me.

just want to hear from people who were actually stuck here and got out. not motivation. what specifically changed things for you.

five years of actual work. not fake work, not theory. grew real businesses, have the data to prove it. search rankings, traffic, the before and after. all of it sitting there.

but every single client belonged to someone else. platforms, agencies, middlemen. i did the job, they kept the relationship. i just kept working thinking it would sort itself out eventually.

it didn't.

Upwork flagged my account out of nowhere. five years, top rated, gone. raised a complaint, got nothing back. that was my main source of work.

tried everything after that. cold email, video outreach, social media every day. built my own email tool from scratch just to save money on software. borrowed money for a course everyone was talking about, finished it and realized it was just youtube videos with better editing.

i don't even know where to start honestly.

for 5 years I was top rated seller on Upwork. worked under agencies and i Grew actual brands fixed complex problems I have the search console data, the rankings, the before and after.

And i have nothing to show for it personally. Every client belonged to the platform or the agency. I did the work, someone else kept the relationship. I just kept my head down thinking the work would speak for itself eventually.

it didn't.

Now Upwork just flagged my account out of nowhere. Raised a complaint. No response, no help, nothing. Five years of work on that platform and that's how it ends.

Agency work pays nothing anyway. So now i'm trying to get direct clients for the first time and it feels like i'm screaming into a wall.

Cold email doesn't work when you're based overseas, people see where you're from and they're already gone. LinkedIn is a joke, just ads and people performing. I've sent Loom videos showing exact problems on their sites, real stuff, not generic. Nobody replies.

I got so deep into cold email i actually built my own email marketing tool just to cut costs. that's how far i took it......

Did the Iman Gadzhi course. borrowed money for it. Finished it and realized everything in there is already on youtube. they just repackage it with better lighting and call it a roadmap.

I know how to rank websites. if a client is ready to spend i can deliver. that part is not the problem.

its getting someone to trust me enough to even have that conversation.

genuinely don't know where to go from here. people who were stuck like this and actually got out......what moved things for you?
