So I posted here yesterday with some photos of some very interesting shaped prints that carved into my build plate and I asked for advice on how to fix/salvage it. Most people said to flip it over because it should be the same on the other side. Unfortunately, it is smooth on the other side so I will have to buy a new build plate. Other people asked me to post pics of the hot end and nozzle to see if they were damaged as well, so that's what I'm doing now. I really can't tell how bad the nozzle is damaged, if at all, because I don't know what it is supposed to look like originally. I hope the pictures are clear enough to see what has happened. Thank you everyone for helping this lost college student figure out how to use this 3d printer! original post

For context, I am a college student working part time at a library and I am the youngest person there. Of course, they put me in charge of all the tech related things. I have been teaching myself how to use our 3d printer and I have been pretty successful thus far. Until today. I went to make some bookmarks for the kids that come to the library after school, and when I went to check to make sure it was adhering correctly, I found this. Will I need to tell my director we need a new building plate or is this fixable? I'm sure it won't be too big of a deal if we need to buy a new plate, but it has only been used to make a few small items, so if I can salvage it I would like to. Thanks for any advice!
