How do I stop eating out of boredom without feeling like I'm depriving myself?

I've been trying to lose weight for a few months now and the actual meal planning is fine. I can eat healthy when I'm actually hungry. The problem is the hours between meals when I'm not hungry at all but I still want to eat. Sitting at my desk working from home, watching TV in the evening, just existing on a slow day. I catch myself walking to the kitchen without even thinking about it.

I've tried drinking more water and keeping my hands busy but nothing sticks. Telling myself no just makes me feel like I'm being punished. I don't want to white knuckle my way through every single day for the rest of my life. How did other people retrain their brains on this? What actually worked long term and not just for a week?

Starting to think the botting problem is never going to actually get fixed in this genre

logged into a fresh server over the weekend hoping to actually see real players in the starter towns. nope. just endless herds of identical default characters moving in perfect unison, clipping through the floor to farm nodes before i could even swing my pickaxe

Im so exhausted by publishers pretending they are actually fighting this. they do a massive "ban wave" once a quarter just for the pr, but the auction house is already permanently ruined by week two anyway. traditional anti-cheat is basically a joke now because gold sellers just spin up headless clients on virtual machines and bypass it entirely

it feels like gaming companies need to stop relying on basic software checks and start looking at strict identity tech. I was reading recently about how some digital ecosystems are shifting to things like World Network to cryptographically verify theres a real human behind the screen before letting an account interact with the system

honestly we need that level of strict verification for mmos at this point if we ever want a functional player-driven economy again.

idk maybe im just getting too old for the grind. it just sucks spending 40 hours farming materials legitimately when some guy running a bot farm on a server rack prints a million gold while hes sleeping

I’ve been thinking about getting new speakers, but there are so many options and price ranges that it’s hard to know what really makes a difference.

I swear the moment I stopped expecting perfect wheat-style texture and started working with the strengths of different GF flours instead, everything got better. Brown butter, almond flour, yogurt, extra moisture, resting the batter longer… suddenly the cakes actually taste GOOD instead of “good for gluten free.”

Still fighting for my life with sandwich bread though.

ngl the shedding itself is awful, but nobody really warns u about how dry and brittle minoxidil makes your actual hair texture feel over time. im about 6 months in and thankfully seeing some little baby sprouts along my part, but my god they just stick straight up. I literally look like ive been electrocuted half the time

I was trying to use heavy hydrating masks to smooth everything down, but they just make my already thin hair lay completely flat against my scalp... which obviously makes the thinning look 10x worse. so its like u have to choose between looking greasy/flat or looking like a frizzy mad scientist. so exhausting

Finally had a minor breakthrough recently though. my roommate uses japanese haircare and I randomly started borrowing her Moist Diane bottles in the shower out of pure frustration with my own stuff. Turns out using a proper anti frizz shampoo and conditioner that actually uses keratin instead of just drowning your hair in heavy drugstore silicones makes a massive difference for the baby hairs.

been using the Moist Diane extra smooth ones for a few weeks now and the crazy regrowth halo is actually laying somewhat flat without exposing my scalp or making my roots look unwashed. im just so relieved to not look like a total fuzzball under harsh office lighting tbh.

how do u guys manage the awkward texture changes during the regrowth phase? do u just accept the frizz or use edge gel? im terrified of putting heavy styling oils near my sparse roots so im curious what the routine is for everybody else here.

I’ve been to five different offices in the last three years and I’m losing my mind.

They spend 6 minutes cleaning, then pull out the intraoral camera and start the 25-minute pitch: “Your recession is at stage 2, we recommend laser therapy for $2,200 or Invisalign for $5,900.”

I’m a barista who already feels guilty about my coffee habit, I don’t need the guilt trip plus a payment plan. One place in Greenwood actually got annoyed when I said “I just want the cleaning today”.

Anyone know a real dentist in Seattle that treats you like a human instead of a revenue target?

I’ll be honest

my skincare routine used to be non-existent because I’d spend my entire evening glued to the TV, and by the time I was ready for bed, I was too tired to deal with a ten-step process.

But lately, I’ve noticed my skin looking super dull and dehydrated, probably from all that blue light and not moving from my couch.

I finally found a way to multitask my do-nothing time. I’ve been using moisturizing face mask while I watch my shows

and it’s honestly fixed my dry patches.

It’s a Daily Face Mask set from Japan that uses Rice Extract & Honey, which is such a classic combo for brightening and deep hydration.

What I love is that they aren't those individual messy packets

it’s a pack of Collagen Face Mask Sheets that you can just pull out and pop on. It feels like a high-end facial, but I can do it while I'm literally doing nothing.

If your skin feels tight or looks tired, you should definitely try these.

My face feels so much more plump and bouncy the next morning, even if I didn't get enough sleep!
