Los Angeles Modern Death Metal Band Looking for Drummer + Vocalist
What’s up everyone — we are Strayn, a modern death metal / metalcore band based in Los Angeles looking for:
-A drummer capable of playing fast double bass as well as comfortably playing a variety of styles like jazz and pop. Its mainly metal but we like to incorporate a bit of everything.
-A vocalist with strong harsh vocals and solid clean singing ability.
Our music goes everywhere stylistically — from melodic/pop-style singing sections to full-on death metal. Because of that, versatility is really important to us. We want people who can handle heavy material while also bringing their own personality and creativity into the music.

For drummers:
- Ability to play fast/heavy material is a must
- Ability to play diverse styles and dynamics is a huge plus
- We dont want a human metronome only, we want someone who can make tasteful adjustments to parts, add their own feel, and contribute creatively
For vocalists:
- Good clean vocals are a must alongside harsh vocals
- Ability to write your own parts and lyrics
- Stage presence and creativity are a big plus

- 1 bassist
We’re all in our 20s–30s, serious about the project, dedicated, writing consistently, and looking to play shows/build something long term.
Influences range across modern death metal, metalcore, melodic death metal, technical/progressive elements, and more. Including Trivium, Death, Periphery, Meshuggah, Lamb of God, Slipknot, Emperor, and pretty much everything among the 3 of us.
