AnimeKAI video server situation

Hello people 😄

As of a few hours ago the 3rd-party video servers that AnimeKAI uses to host videos are down and displaying this message:

https://preview.redd.it/68g5m8l1m40h1.png?width=1842&format=png&auto=webp&s=58c08a389de301c6d40c3114157b25d4e3cd688d

There isn't much we moderators can say at this point to be honest other than advising you not to jump to conclusions.

Luckily video hosts only host the content and are therefore mostly replaceable, but that may take days. The Admins might also be working on a solution that may fix this issue faster.

Since there is a lot of confusion:

This does NOT mean that Animekai itself is shutting down, just the videos are not available at the moment.

To prevent spam, site comments have been disabled and the discord has been locked for low-level members.

Hey everyone!

It’s been a while since we first announced Comix, and since then the site has grown a lot. Thank you to everyone who has been reading, sharing feedback, and supporting it ❤️

But Comix still wasn’t "complete" and a lot of you wanted more. A lot of features people requested were still missing, and this update is focused on making the site feel more complete, more social, and more community-driven.

Here are the update-notes:

Updated UI

Still the Comix you know, but with a cleaner, more modern look and some minor changes.

Collections

Create your own themed collections like “Best Romance”, “Underrated Manhwa" etc. and share them with friends or the community.

Public Profiles

Customize your profile, show your reading list, share your collections, and let others see your comments and activity.

User Uploads

Comix now allows selected users and groups to upload chapters directly.
This should help the library grow faster, open up Comix to new smaller scanlators, and it allows us to individually add tags, genres, series information, and titles more efficiently to existing series.

Overall, this update is a big step toward making Comix feel less like just a reading site and more like an actual community.

User uploads are still very new, we have no experience with them so you might see rapid changes depending on what we learn. If there is someone amongst you who has experience (old Bato/Comick/etc. uploaders or moderators), feel free to reach out to me if you wish to participate in something similar again.

There may still be some bugs or rough edges, but we’ll be working on fixes and improvements as quickly as possible.

Thanks again for sticking with us, and feel free to share your thoughts, suggestions, or bug reports!

Unfortunately I was busy after the actual update was pushed, some of the feedback you all provided in different posts has already been implemented.
Websites are dynamic, we take feedback into account if you properly explain why something should be different. Submit whatever complaints you have below and it may get updated.

Thanks again for sticking with us, and feel free to share your thoughts, suggestions, or bug reports!
