i'm Greek myself, but I wonder what my fellow brothers and sisters think about them.

Apart from their religion and evil treatment of Christians, they seem very interesting to me. They lack the hate for us Greeks that many Turks and Persians have. Many of them seem like humble and warm people like us.

Don't read further if you are from the Balkans or Turkey, >!but I wish we bordered Arabs instead of Turkey or other boring Balkan people. They are like an uninteresting off-shoot of Greeks to me, while Arab culture is exciting and very different from ours.!<

I hope they crush poverty and crime one day and turn more towards our people.

Since the empire spanned over three continents with a heavy ancient Greek presence in North Africa and the Levant, I wonder about the role of camels.

Were they used to a larger extent outside the dry areas, too?

Were Greeks involved in raising and keeping them?

Maybe you can tell me something else, too. They seem like useful animals, so I wonder why we don't have them today. Neither Turks nor Italians do to a large scale.

Do you believe many Turks when they say we stole everything from them and that their cuisine is the best?

It makes me wonder, because our ancient fathers were trading with half of the known world until Alexander's army enriched our cuisine further. It's very strange since our origin lies over four to five thousand years ago and many Turks think we couldn't figure out great dishes before their people came around 1000 years ago as barbaric nomads.

I do think we got some dishes from them after all these centuries, but ours are completely different to their version. They also have difficulties to accept Greek influence on their cuisine and culture in general.

Most times I feel sorry for them and don't argue further when they get angry, but as a history enthusiast I think they should be aware that we don't know the exact origin of many dishes.

What are your thoughts about this issue?

Did camel wrestling originate in the Osmanlı Imparatorluğu? If so, who was the most famous (Rumlu) Osmanlı in that field? Were camels as important to the Anadolu Osmanlılar like eşekler to the Rum millet villagers? Did the Osmanlılar practice camel races? Did they ride on them outside the desert vilayetler?

Could Rumlar even keep eşekler, camels or horses? If I'm not mistaken, the müslüman Osmanlılar feared the Rum millet and didn't allow them to keep horses so they don't fight back.

Our ancestors owned nothing and had many children. Now the poorest Greek has more luxuries than Agamemnon, yet, at best, we marry in our 30s and have a single child.

We could become the mothers and fathers of countless Greeks in the future. If a few million Greeks influenced every corner of this planet in the past, imagine what one billion Greeks could achieve.

Before the crisis, Greece and Cyprus had the 30th highest GDP per capita. Our nation was projected to overtake Italy and Sweden around this time, so we would have been closer to the top where we belong.

Now Cyprus normalized, while we are at the level of Eastern Europe.

We are industrious people, so why are we in such lowly state? Even the Jews surpassed us.

Were the sultans only from the orijinal Osmanli aylesi or could regular people also work their way up?

Forgive me my words kardeşler, but I would never respect any sultan who doesn't consider me of equal worth. The Rum millet has many schools of thought and I'm someone who believes in achieving the highest state of greatness I can get to without sinning.

If I have lived at the time of my Osmanlı dedeleri, I would have either climbed the ranks or get killed and kneeled down to Allah in the life after.

The British, French, Germans and many more Hellenized themselves at the time of the Osmanli modernization. What led to the modernization process? Were they behind too much compared to the Avrupalilar and felt the need to do so?

Which Osmanli art was popular among the Rumlar? What were the main branches of Osmanli art? Was tile art important to the Osmanlilar? It's the only art that I know of that looks distinct from others. Sadly I'm not a big fan of them, but maybe you Osmanli torunlari can brighten up benim günü with other art pieces.

What did the Rum millet traitors who fought for the Osmanlilar scream out during war? Were Yunanlar even allowed to fight or were they kept lowly and weak to not revolt like the Janissaries?

Biz çok yillar beraber yaşadik. Türkler diyorlarki Yunanlar bizden çok çaldilar. Yunanlar diyorlar you forced sizin kültür bize.

Biz size baklava verdik, siz bize Greek delight verdiniz. Çok sagol. Şaka aside, daha ne var?

What did the Osmanlilar invent? Were there Rum mücitler, too? Were Rumlar denied of education and had to work at the fields to pay mandatory taxes? What did they teach at schools? I think there used to be priests who taught the Rum cocuklari the Yunan dili and Yunan tarihi, hidden from müslüman Osmanlari.

Are there instruments that Osmanlilar took from Greeks, like the kemence?

Did the Osmanlilar invent new instruments? Which ones were the most popular? Is it true that real Osmanli müslümanlar weren‘t allowed to play music according to Islam?

Türkiye ve bazi Türkler niye Yunan adalarini kendinlere istiyorlar?

Is it because Yunanistan broke some treaties?

A Turk once told me the adalar are next to Anadolu, so they should belong to Türkiye. I wanted to reply with "Anadolu Yunanistanin yanindadir, so it should be Yunan again.", but I realized I would argue with a fool.

Did the Osmanlilar really take Rum cocuklari and radicalized them to kill their own millet? Or am I mistaken?

I think they revolted once, so what was that about?
