I had bought the original a while ago, should I get Resynced or play the og?

Basically the title, Black Flag has 13 now and honestly, I know absolutely nothing about the game itself, I know it's fucking goated and the ship gameplay is just amazing, which was the reason I bought it in the first place, but idk if I should just start playing it rn or wait for Resynced, which will most likely have better compatibility for newer systems and probably fix every issue that Black Flag could have had

Is the OG good enough to play it right now? or should I wait for Resynced for the best possible experience?

Village ended up being my favourite RE game, and Ethan the best protagonist

So, I played all games from 1 to 8 back to back and honestly, RE7 and 8 are the best games from a narrative standpoint by a LONGshot, all previous games felt like the MC were a means to tell a story, which was Umbrella, but there was little to no depth to the characters being played or the ones close to them, in RE6 it was the first time we ever saw actual characters with Chris and Piers being the most notorious ones, but RE7 and Village took it to the next damned level

If I said everything I wanna say I'd probably be writting a small trunk story, but to cut it short: It's amazing how properly blended the horror aspect is to the action in the game, while RE7 feels more like a survival horror, in Village you can truly feel that Ethan went in there to throw hands and that he actually got military training, but even more than anything else, I absolutely loved the shift from "we are telling stories about bioweapons" to "we are telling stories about characters who got shit from bioweapons", Ethan is an amazing character and absolute banger of a father

I just finished my 4th playthrough after finishing the game in VoS and a Casual run in 1 hour and 50 minutes, now as soon as I get paid, I'll get the DLCs for RE4R, RE7 and Village, while also buying Requiem, because dear god this franchise is amazing

Is this a good stopping point?

I prefarmed plenty of echoes beforehand and ended up farming a bit more to get as many ER and DEF substats as possible, I know that 260% ER is the minimum required to get her whole buff, but can it get better or would there not be much difference from any upgrade?

Just finished all games 1 to 8 back to back and here's my experience

Plenty of yapping ahead, beware

Ok so a bit of context, my first horror experience was as a kid like as a 6yo, I watched my uncle play Nemesis and I saw how Nemesis just gored Brad in that cutscene and how Jill died horribly multiple times, that was my first gore trauma as a kid lol, so I decided to tackle these and play Resident Evil once and for all, so I caught the games in a Capcom discount in Steam and snatched all 8 games for $45, and full price would've been like $140 or something like that

  1. Ok so, for the RE1 Remaster, I can't explain just how perfect the game is, it's eerie, it's scary, it's difficult, and I actually had to use my brain, unlike 99% of modern games that point at where you have to go while holding your hand all of the time, it was incredibly nice to be able to actually have to get into the game, the amount of interconnected puzzles that made you go back and forth and having to figure out things without the usual and obvious hints the game makes to guide you to a solution, it was an incredible experience even for today's standards
  2. I got the remakes because I thought it would've been an enhanced way to experience the game and oh boy RE2R was just as perfect as I thought it would be, it's got all the amazing things I have to say about RE1 but with infinitely better gameplay and graphics, being introduced to Stalkers was just an amazing experience and a feature I didn't think I'd actually need, but RE2R was just a blast from start to finish, and after finishing the story with both Leon and Jill I honestly think I'll have to give it another go at some point because it's just that good
  3. RE3R could've been the absolute peak of all of Resident Evil if it weren't so damn short, I didn't play the original but even then I realized just how much content they cut from the game, RE1 Remaster took me around 4 days to finish, RE2R took me 3 days, but RE3R took me a single sitting, I finished it in 4 damned hours, as a game in itself its gorgeous, Nemesis feels like an actual threat for like the 20 minutes he is in the game, a definitive improvement over Mr X, who felt more like a nuiscance than a Stalker with how easy he is to avoid or to escape from, and it truly feels like you are going around in Raccoon City and going back to the RPD felt just right, as if both games were actually happening at the same time, I wished they put as much effort in the RE3R as they did in RE2R, but well... what to do
  4. Not much there is to say about RE4R, the original RE4 was the only Resident Evil I actually played because a friend in high school made me play it so we could nerd about it, so I actually felt the huge improvement that RE4R is, starting from the fact that Ashley isn't so damn... well, you know, but from the gameplay to the graphics to the enviroment, to everything really, it feels like such a love letter to what the original RE4 is, and right now I'm waiting to get paid so I can get the Separate Ways DLC
  5. Not gonna lie, I know that RE5 is a favourite for a lot of people but I just can't stand it, maybe it is because the game is intended to play with a controller and I had to push through it with m&k, the game overall felt like a shitty copy of RE4, one of the things that felt just weird to me is how tanky the enemies were even on Normal difficulty, they were somehow way too tough for no reason, some bullet sponges that were easy to deal with but annoying to get through, I do hate how Wesker went from being a carefully crafted villain who was very meticulous and ended up being the most careless villain in the series, it still makes some noise to me that he managed to become near invincible right up until the end of the game, even when you have to face Jill you have to survive against him, because you CAN'T BEAT HIM, also the game mechanically was awful, not only the controls, but the whole workings of the game, the interaction with the enviroment also felt like a straight downgrade from RE4, once you get used to the controls in RE4 the game just comes naturally, which doesn't happen in RE5, overall, the game seriously needs the Remake asap, because it geniunely has a shit ton of potential but is lost in the gameplay
  6. By far the most controversial take in this community, RE6 is a far better game that most people claim it to be, yes, the game is a huge disaster for 2 reasons: its lack of horror and the huge shift towards a Gears of War tone, with far more action and "brutality" than the previous entries, 4 did it well by mixing horror and action, 5 took it to the limit but 6 was just too much, even more so when people were expecting a comeback to horror and got this instead. That said, none of that takes anything away from the fact that RE6 is an incredible action game, a couple of stuff do feel clunky but it is by far a huge improvement in action and mechanics over RE5 and even RE4, melee combat was a great addition considering how much of an action figure Leon and Chris are. after finishing RE7 and 8, I did realize one thing looking back, that in RE6 they tried to go more in depth with the characters, Chris stopped being just an action figure, he became way more human, a flawed one at that, he was traumatized by all of his comrades dying in front of him, Piers was an excellent character and I even dare to say, one of the best characters in all of the RE franchise, mf was loyal and stubborn until the end, a true brother in arms; and this character development isn't just tied to Chris, we also had a huge depth reveal to Leon, in RE2 and RE4 it could be easily concluded that mf was horny af for Ada and that's it, but in RE6 we got that he had a weird obsession with her instead, he knew Chris, he knew what kind of man we was and what he stood for, and even then after being told to the face that Ada killed his squad, Leon still decided to side with her, Leon was shown not anymore as a perfect playboy that was badass and good looking while killing zombies, he was flawed, and honestly, he felt WAY more human in RE6 than in any previous games, in RE6 they did intend to start developing the characters, which is also seen with Jack, and had a poor attempt at creating a storyline for Ada which was honestly the worst part of the story, the game as is is a good experience, but amazing definetly, but nice to go through, a Remake that shifts the whole game towards what RE4R was will absolutely make it an experience worthy of the rest of the saga
  7. RE7 was such a huge breath of fresh air, it was geniunely an amazing horror experience, I literally have only one negative thing to say about it and it's that it kind of baits you with the idea that the Baker estate would play similar to Spencer Mansion or the RPD, when its pretty much a linear development with mostly empty rooms that serve to get a single item and you're done, which also separates a lot of the game into sections which was... a bit underwhelming? the Baker's main house was an excellent place to explore with Jack as a Stalker, but the idea gets ditched real quick as you get out of the house pretty early, if they had put together the Old House and the Barn together into the main home, with Margarite and Jack being Stalkers divided into the whole house, it would've been so much better, but separating the game into sections made it feel so much smaller and shorter, the Ship section was incredibly amazing though. Still, the whole game was perfectly amazing as a horror experience, it could have definetly been better stitched together as a story, the other thing that makes me a bit sad about it is that the Bakers are done with fairly quick, once you are done with Jack the game shifts more towards puzzle solving and action sequences that take away a lot of the horror of the beggining, except for the Ship though, that section was dope af
  8. Ok so I've seen a few comments here and there say that RE8 was not as good as RE7, which is just bollocks, Village is not only the absolute perfection of what a continuation of RE7 could be, it goes beyond it, it builds upon what was set in RE7 and fixes every possible nuance of "issue" that could've been in RE7, for example, the menu, the interaction with the doors and the enviroment, graphics, how integrates perfectly well the action into the horror aspect, there are only a handful of things that I could find negative of the game, the first being that the intro is so damn hard for absolutely no reason, like, why lol, then there's an issue with 2 characters, Lady Dimitrescu being such an abhorrent Stalker, she is a stalker for like what, 20 to 30 minutes of gameplay? and I'm being generous, maybe it's the structure of the Dimitrescu Castle but she could've been such an amazing Stalker, but you're done with her part so quickly its sad, then there's Heisenberg, the Factory is probably the best built section of the whole game, but his final fight is pathetic to say the least, aside from being by far the easiest boss, it's the one with the least playtime, like half of it is cutscenes then you're done, aside from that, there's literally nothing to complain about, maybe the first weapons being pretty bad and even useless if you're playing on Hardcore, the Handgun's purpose is to literally shoot down gems and hope that you can stagger enemies, and there's not enough ammo for the Shotgun for it to be constantly reliable for the first half of the game, aside from all of these smaller things that get fixed fairly quick as you progress the game, the story, the ambient, the characters, the development, the twists, the gameplay, the horror, Benaviento's section being probably the scariest section of the entire franchise because what the hell was even that, I literally have to say only this becuase otherwise I'd be saying way too much, I do think that the Dimitrescu section needed more screentime, because that mansion was so beautiful to walk through

Ok so, with all that said, I do think that the biggest shift in the franchise and probably the most important one was in RE6 when they decided to add development to the characters, up until RE5, Chris, Jill, Leon, Ada, Claire, and the rests of the cast were means to tell a story, which was the downfall of Umbrella and how all of these other characters tried to use Umbrella's creation to develop their own BOWs and how the heroes just appeared to save the day and head on to the next mission like 007, when I saw Chris drinking away his traumas I realized that up until that point, the game felt incredibly hollow, yeah the games were fun, but they were out of for the most important characters, the ones you play, Chris went through a LOOOOOT of shit, but he didn't give a shit until RE6, when he was scared and he wanted to forget, to run away, Leon was just a funny lil guy like "oh jeez my first job and the world is ending lolol", nah this guy was coping bad af, and the only one there that he saw that actually was up to the task and was a glimmer of hope, was Ada, and this mf got OBSESSED with her, even Helena was like "wtf why are you so into her", and by the end of Leon's story she was like "yeah sure go chase her, whatever"

This is even more obvious when in RE7, we get Ethan, a brand new guy whose character get developed the hell out of throughout the 2 games, and not only him, we get a new vision of Chris as well, Umbrella is now a collateral, its the reason these things happen to our characters and not the whole reason of the game to be, and honestly, that's such an improved way to tell the story

Right now I'm in an existencial crisis because I can't purchase RE9 right now and I don't know what to do, maybe another run of RE2R on Hardcore is needed

Royal Kludghe R87Pro just arrived and wow

I've only had cheap ass keyboards and Logitech G Pro and the G Pro X, this is the first time I'm trying Brown Switches and dear god, how come I've never tried this before?

It feels really old school, its heavy and my first time owning a knob to control volume and hoo boy, it's comfy af

The build feels really high quality, and the keycaps feel pretty sturdy and soft at the same time, unlike other keyboards I've had, the keybiard itself feels quite round, I've never noticed until now but sometimes there are small edges where its quite pointy, but finally using this keyboard I've noticed how pointy my previous keyboards were

There's only 2 downsides so far, the spacing othe keys themselves are.... weird, each key is slightly closer to each other and ngl, many different brands didn't have this same feeling, I find myself usually taping keys that I didn't mean to tap, but that's something that takes getting used to

and the other thing that's a bit of a heavier downside is that the writing on the key caps are slightly transparent, meaning that they should light up when the backlight is on, but they are NOT transparent enough and it's real hard to see the writing in each cap, and even when I get really close they feel... blurry

Overall, the keyboard itself feels utterly terrific, writing overall is just so satisfying and I honestly highly doubt I'll ever be going back to Logitech after this lol, and it was only $63 with shipping from a local store

And I'm truly hard to my very core because godDAMN how am I supposed to play the game with one hand?

I know that there's plenty people that were not as pleased with Village as they were with 7, but I'm geniunely happy with the improvements to the visuals and the mechanics, I'm in love with how much better the interactions with the doors and enviroment are, but even more so I'm in love with the improved inventory and menu

Now, is the game as long as RE7?, because honestly it felt really short for me, even more so compared to RE1, RE2R and RE4R

I tend to play the games in the highest difficulty, but the older RE games I've played in either normal/easy because I honestly suck at scary games and now that I've finally caught up to RE8, is Hardcore a too difficult for a first playthrough or is it the intended scarce items experience?

Yes, I understand where a lot of people are coming from, RE6 is an action game, not a horror game, although it does have a lot of gore does not make it a horror game in the slightest

But MAN, people REALLY hate Chris's chapter? Like, goddamn, I really liked Leon's chapter but Chris was just brutally good story-wise, Finn and Piers just won my heart real bad, Episode 5 of Chris's chapter was amazingly well written, I never thought Piers would stick out so much as a character throughout the game, and how important it was to Chris's development, looking back, I really thought RE6 was really just an action packed arcade game where there was nothing but kicking zombie ass all along with little to no substance, but character development and story progression is just real damn nice, of course it's way more spread out unlike Resident 4 or 5, but man it is a fun game to play and has really good characters and acting

I do hate that they redesigned Ada though

Anyways, I get that by the time it released a lot of people hated that it wasn't a horror game anymore and everyone became an action figure, but after RE4 and 5 it was kind of obvious, still, goddamn, Piers and Chris really got to my heart
