People need to be more considerate in this subreddit

There’s brutally honest, and then there’s whatever the fuck some of the comments on posts in this subreddit are.

Blunt is fine, and necessary. Shallow reassurances are no help to anyone. However, a lot of comments on all sorts of posts go well beyond blunt and into just fully mean territory.

Somebody asking not to be hugboxxed is not asking to be openly insulted. The tone of some of the comments on here is so off-putting and just outright unkind.

Asking for clothing advice is not an invitation for people to go ‘your clothes look stupid as fuck lol’, it’s a request for sincere and constructive advice. This isn’t a roast subreddit.

Someone asking for advice on what’s clocky about them is not gonna be helped out by snarky comments going ‘everything lol’. Be constructive.

Some people come on here just to put people down, and I cannot understand why you’d want to be so malicious about stuff like this as a trans guy yourself. Of all people, you (you being a broad collective term) should know how hard it is, so a bit of kindness and compassion goes a long way.

Just wanted to post this because it’s really disappointing to see so many people being shamed and put down when they’re just trying to work out how to live happily and comfortably by asking for pointers from members of their own community.

I’ve been hunting high and low for this documentary for months, with very little success. I’ve not been able to find any snippets or screenshots or anything like that from the actual documentary. I’ve used the way back machine and the internet archives website and have scoured many other dodgy websites, but with no luck.

The closest I’ve gotten so far is a recording of a segment of BBC1 broadcasting from 1991 which references it with a sort of preview image, but that’s all. I’ll link it here in case it’s any help:

BBC1 broadcast reference (timestamp of mention is 41:43)

My hunt for this documentary is partially for my own amusement and partially because I’m very keen to attempt to archive it if it can be found so that all(?) of the Gerald Scarfe documentaries from that time are available somewhere on the internet should anyone wish to seek them out. I’m very fond of Gerald Scarfe myself, and know many other people are, too, so it seems a shame for this documentary to be lost to the void.

There’s (I believe, as of right now) three other documentaries in this I suppose ‘series’ (I say series loosely, due to time frames etc) - Scarfe on Scarfe, Scarfe’s Follies, and Scarfe on Art. Scarfe on Scarfe is 1986, Scarfe’s Follies is 1988, and Scarfe on Art is 1991.

All of these aired on BBC2, and are available on YouTube in various forms, both whole and sliced up.

If anyone could help, I’d be very grateful indeed!!!
