Is Fallout 76 taking the community for granted?
I’ve stuck with this game for a long time, through the rough launch, the improvements, and everything in between. I actually want Fallout 76 to succeed, it’s my most played game, but lately it feels like the community is being taken for granted.
There’s a growing pattern that’s hard to ignore. Features get teased or mentioned, the community gets excited, and then either nothing happens or it arrives in a completely underwhelming or altered state. Roadmaps feel vague or quietly abandoned, and communication has been inconsistent at best.
Content updates have also felt pretty thin recently. Events get recycled, new additions are minimal, and when something does drop, it often feels like it lacks depth or replayability. Take the new update coming in the fall, infestations.. an unoriginal mix of head hunts and big foot.
Then there’s the ongoing frustration with bugs and performance issues. Some long standing problems still aren’t addressed, while new ones seem to pop up with each update. It’s hard not to feel like core gameplay stability is taking a backseat.
I think what bothers me most is the lack of transparency. If something isn’t coming, just say it. If plans change, explain why. The community has shown time and time again that it’s willing to be patient, but not when it feels like expectations are being built up and then quietly dropped.
Also no word on next gen updates either which I’m sure they said was coming early 2026. Just be transparent please Bethesda.
At the end of the day, most of us are still here because we enjoy the game and believe in its potential. But it’s getting harder each update.
Curious how others are feeling, am I overthinking this, or does it feel like the same pattern keeps repeating?
