Anyone else using Kabloom as a primary or a frequent choice?

This has been my primary character since 2018, and at various times I’ve had her set up mostly as a Commando or Shotgun build until they reworked all the perk cards last year. After the *Once in a Blue Moon* update added the Kabloom as a reward, I’ve been running around using the hell out of mine.

Current Mods: Prime Receiver, True Medium Barrel, Reliable Stock, Standard Sights, No Muzzle.

I never seem to run into other players using it, but I also don’t do any of the Daily Ops or expeditions either, I just run around wastelanding. I presume it isn’t usable with whatever “meta” is currently in vogue. It does well enough for me though, otherwise I would have put it in a display long ago.

Am I the only one out there using it as a “go-to” all purpose gat?

I feel bad for the overseer!

once you finish her questline, she just stays in the basement .

i remember looting her house before I did the scorch questline, and she would be walking around upstairs, maybe even making a pie. now she's a basement dweller.🤣

Cannot reach the imprisoned magazine

It’s in a cell with a chained door, cannot be opened. It was a cruel joke from the game, that magazine issue is still missing from my collection. There is no other route or shortcut, and I can’t blast out with explosives.

Just had my first bad experience with a player

I went to an event and I was there with another low level player. I noticed a very high level player over level 5000 standing outside the event not helping at all. I thought maybe they were afk. The other player and I did our best to fight the hordes of ghouls, but the ended up failing the event. As soon as it ended that high level player ran in and started shooting some sort of radiation gun at me that almost downed me and sending the thumbs down over and over following me outside. Wouldn’t leave me alone until I left. I blocked them immediately. This was my first bad experience with another player. I have had amazing experiences with other players before this.

If the Atom Shop was a catalogue system vs a FOMO type system, I’d be inclined to come back

I know that the current live service model of games relies on FOMO mechanics, AKA “buy this or it’ll be gone!!” But for a paid game with so many items, I think it’s ridiculous that there isn’t just a catalogue of items you can buy.

Especially for CAMP items, you have to pray to god that the item you want shows up. And if it shows up in a bundle? Tough luck, buy it all. Want items for your specific build that’s now not in the shop? Sorry, you didn’t play the game since launch, better hope it shows up during a time frame you’re on otherwise you’re SOL.

Id be way more inclined to spend more money on things I want from a catalogue system vs whatever this is now. I don’t think the gimmicky FOMO mechanics get talked about enough.

Thank you for coming to this whiny rant.

Is Fallout 76 taking the community for granted?

I’ve stuck with this game for a long time, through the rough launch, the improvements, and everything in between. I actually want Fallout 76 to succeed, it’s my most played game, but lately it feels like the community is being taken for granted.

There’s a growing pattern that’s hard to ignore. Features get teased or mentioned, the community gets excited, and then either nothing happens or it arrives in a completely underwhelming or altered state. Roadmaps feel vague or quietly abandoned, and communication has been inconsistent at best.

Content updates have also felt pretty thin recently. Events get recycled, new additions are minimal, and when something does drop, it often feels like it lacks depth or replayability. Take the new update coming in the fall, infestations.. an unoriginal mix of head hunts and big foot.

Then there’s the ongoing frustration with bugs and performance issues. Some long standing problems still aren’t addressed, while new ones seem to pop up with each update. It’s hard not to feel like core gameplay stability is taking a backseat.

I think what bothers me most is the lack of transparency. If something isn’t coming, just say it. If plans change, explain why. The community has shown time and time again that it’s willing to be patient, but not when it feels like expectations are being built up and then quietly dropped.

Also no word on next gen updates either which I’m sure they said was coming early 2026. Just be transparent please Bethesda.

At the end of the day, most of us are still here because we enjoy the game and believe in its potential. But it’s getting harder each update.

Curious how others are feeling, am I overthinking this, or does it feel like the same pattern keeps repeating?

Unintentionally Punny

I renamed my Excavator Power Armor with a Mr. Fuzzy helmet. Maybe someone already came up with this, but for me this was 100% an accidental typo.

I most certainly kept it.

What’s your funniest renamed item?

I don't use my throwing slot, so for my guy, I equipped my rotten tatos I collected in AC. I find it handy when I encounter a random jerk 😆 (Sorry, tini)))

Apparently, bullet storm stacks with two shot

I have got bullet storm since this minigun became my main daily weapon and found out that after shooting 90 bullets, I had got 6 units instead of the three I thought I would get, so it doesn't count the expenditure but the actual bullets the gun fires.

Maybe it's dumb for many, but I literally just discovered this and figured I'd mention it for anyone who is as oblivious to this as I was, I think my beloved is going to be even more fun now.

For anyone curious, the abilities are two shot, explosive and durability. It may be a little cliché, but I've been having an unreasonable amount of fun blasting things with my minigun and T-60.

Where does this weapon skin come from?

I've seen this same skin on a .50 cal machine gun and maybe an auto axe, but I'm not having much luck figuring out the source of it.

Reminder: Don't scrap from the "New" section

Been playing for three years. I know better. Doing dailies and hopping events, waiting for the next Mutated event (trying to get hose headlamp plans) I do the Irrational Fear event. Hop over to get my bombs at Dyer Chemical, Mutated event pops ( I lost track of time). Go to fast travel, DAMN, overburdened, I waddle over to the chemistry station and start scrapping. I watched in pain as VERY BRIEFLY, I saw the Forest Camo Jumpsuit go into the abyss. Back to the grind I guess...

Regards,

WorWizard

You can do every daily at the Whitesprings, prove me wrong!

Okay just for fun I wanted to come up with a list of every daily you can complete without leaving the whitesprings (you may have to server hop though). I know you likely can’t do ALL of them, but let’s see how many!

  1. Find / scrap Teddy Bears (all over but I usually go for the ones in the stroller at the pool, outside the golf club out front, and downstairs in the golf club gift shop)

  2. Kill / cook a Yao guai (cave on the course)

  3. Kill a canine (mongrels along the fence permitter)

  4. Anything robot related

  5. Kill a glowing creature (wendigo or the glowing radstag)

  6. Kill a cryptid (wendigo)

  7. Find / scrap teapots (that little office on the course)

  8. Find / scrap abraxo (laundry room, beside the clubhouse on that shelf)

  9. Kill / cripple ghouls

  10. Find / scrap microscopes (refuge)

  11. Find / scrap board games (refuge)

  12. Drink / collect Nuka Cola (Bubbles at the refuge)

  13. Collect Brainfungus (service entrance)

  14. Sell / buy from an NPC vendor (the mall)

  15. Anything fishing (pond with the Mirelurks)

  16. Pick lock / terminal (I usually do the door at the pool and the manager’s terminal)

  17. Collect purified water (I’m sure there’s lots but I only know of the one inside the shed at the driving range)

  18. Kill a human (sorry to the guy at the driving range or the responders)

  19. Collect / eat pre war food (it’s all over but the shed at the driving range has a few things)

Sometimes scorched, super mutants, and mole miners wander onto the course so that covers those ones. I don’t think the Whitesprings has any cultists or anything mothman related so we’re missing those…

Sheepsquatch Glamour Shot

This one was featured by Bethesda in their 'Around Appalachia' series back in 2019.

Big thanks to my friends Jazhara and Otrixx for providing the beautiful background 'VFX' - they threw a metric ton of Pumpkin Grenades during the photo shoot. 😂
