MPS Velvet Rosa Attar Private Blend (Review / Olfactive Breakdown)

Sample size: slightly more than 1 ml.

Keeping this short because my olfactive interpretation is already clearly visible in the picture. Since the brand hasn’t disclosed the fragrance notes, this breakdown is for anyone looking for this attar or for those who already have it but couldn’t fully understand the scent profile.

Opening feels sharp and slightly polarizing with a fruity-rosy-ambery-incensy impression. I get raspberry-type fruitiness with tanginess/tartness and slight red guava accord hints. The rose feels slightly dark, more like an aged Bulgarian rose wrapped in soft ambery accords. I mention Bulgarian rose because of the slightly citrusy, jammy nuance, which is a characteristic of Bulgarian rose itself, and here I feel that aspect beautifully supports the fruity top accord.

Not an oud fragrance, but it carries an oudy-woody/incensy facet in the background. In the dry down, sugary creamy vanilla, tonka, and benzoin become more noticeable.

Somewhere, I feel they built this fragrance imagining a red velvet cake.

Season: Fall / Winter.

Gender Profile: Unisex (feminine leaning opening).

Just saw this and I can't resist myself talking about it as it features Old Spice Aftershave (as i have been using it for years now, matter of fact im even wearing it right now).

See take this post normally, first i want to educate some new guys as one guy said it on this post ki 'after shave hai toh aftershave ki tarah use karo" see aftershave vo bus kahne k liye h, all aftershaves which are alcohol based are of eau de cologne concentration that means they have around 2-3% frag oil, so yes it can be used as a perfume even though it's marketed as after shave. Now comes the major part plz guys don't use this or any kind of aftershave like this after shaving your skin, just think about it ki aap shave kar rahe ho thousands of micro cuts lagte h shaving process it's exactly like exfoliation or aap unn cuts me chemical synthetic frag oil which is present in it vo seedha pour kar rahe ho abhi toh bus me uss fragrance oil ki baat raha hu baaki or ingredients toh count hi ni kiye. See jo nahi raha hai aesa well and good but jo aesa kar raha h ussi k liye yeh post hai, kindly STOP. Cuz me Fragrance ka shaukeen hu naa ki perfume ka that's y i appreciate this fragrance and have been using it for years. 200-250rs k around aata h lavender forward hone k karan aromatic toh hai hi saath saath lasting bhi 6+ on clothes hai, once again only spray it on your clothes, projection starting 1hrs k liye strong loud hai, jaisa name h vaisi hi khusboo h old school fougere mature fragrance h. That's it thankyou guys.

It’s been almost 10 days since I received all my decants from Sovereign Scents, so I think it’s the right time to start reviewing them.

Starting off with Swiss Arabian Essence of Casablanca.

First things first, this is completely based on my skin chemistry. It might perform or smell different on you, so take it with a pinch of salt.

-On strip:

Let’s start with how it smells on paper.

It opens up fruity, but not in a photorealistic way. These aren’t fruits you can actually relate to in real life. It’s more of an artificial, synthetic fruitiness. And when I say synthetic, I don’t mean cheap. It just means it is intentionally made to smell like that, not to replicate natural smell.

It gives off that body mist type of fruity vibe, something you’d usually associate with feminine fragrances. So yeah, in the opening, it does lean slightly feminine even though it’s marketed as unisex.

There’s also a soft musky, cosmetic touch, but on strip it’s not very prominent. As it dries down, see the frutiness remains but it becomes more powdery with a slightly ambery, musky base and a bit of vanilla warmth.

-On skin (main part):

Now this is where things get interesting.

This is one of those fragrances that smells very different on skin compared to paper.

As soon as you spray it on skin, the fruitiness tones down within a few minutes. It drops to around 30 to 40 percent, and the rest becomes musky, slightly vanillic, a bit resinous, but most importantly very cosmetic.

It gives that lipsticky vibe you get from iris based perfumes. Very smooth, musky, and on the cosmetic side.

In the later dry down, it turns into a really beautiful powdery warmth. That’s where it shines the most for me.

The juice quality is actually solid. It smells well blended and refined, nothing harsh or cheap about it.

-Performance (realistic take):

Since I’m using a 3ml vial, I won’t judge full longevity. That wouldn’t be fair.

But projection, or lift, that I can comment on.

It projects pretty well. If your hand is around 10 to 15 centimeters from your nose, you will easily catch whiffs for about 1 to 1.5 hours on skin based on my chemistry.

On clothes, you might get around 2 hours of that same projection range before it starts sitting closer.

Longevity, take this lightly, but you can expect roughly 5 to 6 hours. Again, 3ml decant testing isn’t the most accurate way to judge this.

-Final thoughts:

Is it worth buying?

Yes, I am definitely going to get a full bottle.

It’s versatile. You can wear it almost all year round, just avoid peak summer heat or direct sun.

One more thing, the sweetness is very well balanced. The fruity sweetness never gets overpowering or nauseating. Personally, I am sensitive to overly sweet scents, but this one did not give me that issue at all.

And yes i just structured it with the help of GPT so its presented cleanly and easy to read, otherwise the words are all mine. I know some geeky nerds gonna call it an AI post so this is for them. And yeah it saves my time.

Thank you 😊
