Spicebomb Extreme performance issue or just me? (Kanyakumari humidity)
So three months back, my friend bought me a Spicebomb Extreme from the UK. It was a complete blind buy. I liked the DNA on paper. I wanted something spicy and masculine, and I just assumed it would suit me and went ahead with it.
From what I can tell, it’s a 2023 batch. I’ve checked the batch code as well.
Now the thing is, Spicebomb Extreme is always hyped as a “beast mode” perfume in the fragrance community. When I received it, it wasn’t peak winter, but around January when winter was settling down, slightly cool weather, not extreme heat.
I tried it one evening and went with around six sprays. I had read that even four sprays can be a bit harsh, but I still pushed it to six expecting better longevity and projection.
But honestly, the performance was very average.
So I started checking reviews, and I’m seeing mixed opinions, especially people saying recent batches have performance issues. That made me question my bottle, but since mine is a 2023 batch, I’m not sure if that’s really the issue.
I’ve used it multiple times over the past three months in different situations, including air-conditioned environments, and the performance still feels underwhelming.
Initially, I thought I was going nose blind, but I asked friends around me, and even they couldn’t smell it properly unless they were very close.
For context, I’m based in Kanyakumari, so humidity is a big factor here. I’ve heard that heavier perfumes don’t perform the same way in humid climates, so I’m wondering if that’s affecting it.
At this point, I’m confused:
• Is this a batch issue?
• Is it just how Spicebomb Extreme performs now?
• Or is it my climate and skin chemistry?
Has anyone else in India faced similar performance issues with Spicebomb Extreme or other perfumes?
