How do u deal with "soft" racism coming from the white part of your family?
(i'm Brazilian) my mother side of the family is white and it's even funny how they don't COMPREHEND the idea of racism in a non explicit way.
As a joke, she came to me and asked if it was a good idea to move to the south of the country (we're from Bahia. The blackest place in the world outside Africa) and the first thing i said was: "they gon' kill me, mom". And she got freakin' MAD AT ME. She said some things about us just victimizing ourselves all that stuff u probably already know.
fun fact: tho i live in the blackest place out of the African continent, it ain't uncommon to presence racism kinda frequently. Friend of mine got beat up by some random officer 'cause we were playing pokemon go(?????). And an old woman once stopped me in the middle of the street to say i had "one foot in the house and the other in the senzala (AKA: slave quarter)"
