I bought this NB 1998 yesterday without a test drive and without ever having driven an MX-5 before! I based my decision partly on the driving fun people in this Reddit group keep talking about. Hopefully they’ll deliver it this week already. Am I going to regret this?

I’m looking at a 2017 Mazda MX-5 ND 1.5 (131 hp) with 41,000 km (≈25,500 miles). The car is currently for sale and has an Alcantara steering wheel installed (looks like an IL Motorsport one).
I was wondering:
What are the pros and cons of an Alcantara steering wheel compared to the original leather one?
How does it hold up over time (wear, maintenance, etc.)?
Does it affect resale value?
Personally, I’m not a big fan of how it looks, but I’m more interested in whether it’s actually better or worse in daily use.
Any input from people who have experience with these would be appreciated.
