Hey everyone,

I’m a recent M.Sc. Finance graduate from a Tier 1.5 B-school in Mumbai. I’ve recently secured a role as a Relationship Manager (Manager-1 Grade) at ICICI Bank. Honestly, I'm skeptical about this job as I've heard nothing but bad reviews about it. Target pressure, toxic environment, sluggish corporate growth, etc.

I’m keen on transitioning into a Product Manager role, ideally within a fintech company. I’m particularly interested in working on digital financial products, payments, lending platforms, or anything at the intersection of finance and technology.

However, I’m a bit unsure about the most effective way to make this pivot, especially coming from a relationship management/sales-oriented role. I’d really appreciate guidance on a few things:

  • What skills should I focus on building (product sense, analytics, tech, etc.)?
  • Are there any specific certifications, courses, or projects that actually help in breaking into PM roles?
  • How can I leverage my current RM role to make my profile more product-relevant?
  • Is it better to switch internally (within banking/fintech) first, or aim directly for fintech PM roles?
  • Any tips on networking, resumes, or breaking past the “no PM experience” barrier?

Would love to hear from anyone who has made a similar transition or works in fintech/product. Any advice, resources, or even reality checks would be super helpful.

Thanks in advance!

Anyone from the 2026 batch who got placed in ICICI Bank as RM? Need to know if y'all think it's worth it to join since I've mostly come across bad reviews.

So I live in Mumbai and currently preparing for the CFA Level 1 exam. I’m looking for anyone who has physical CFA Level 1 study material (Schweser, official CFAI books, Premium Mocks, notes of coaching institutes, etc.) that they’re no longer using and would be willing to give away.
I’d take good care of the books, and can pick them up from a convenient location anywhere in Mumbai.
Trying to save some money while still giving this exam a serious shot, so any help would genuinely mean a lot.
If you can help, please comment here or DM me.

Thank you in advance - may your portfolios stay green and your IRR stay high :p 📈
