Crankset specs to replace current crankset?
I have a 10-speed road bike and I've had to replace the crankset's chainrings (130 bcd 39T/53T) for quite a while. I've been searching and decent chainring sets and it'll be $60 minimum (plus shipping). I already bought a 10-speed cassette and chain, so might as well deal with the crankset as well.
Since my current crankset is extremely old and very used, I'm thinking of just buying a used crankset off of ebay. I did a quick search and there are several cranksets for under $70 (This, this, this, this for example). Even if they're used, I'm 99% positive they'll be in better condition. I've also seen a several new "Shimano Cues" that are less than $60.
I'll be taking it to a mechanic to change it, but what crankset will fit my current bike? I've seen specs like "172.5mm" and "BB-6500" but I'm not sure what that means.
It doesn't have to be Shimano. I'm just looking for something reliable, dependable, rust-resistant, and that doesn't break anytime soon.
