Merci vielmal for any help you can provide. I am getting a bit overwhelmed.
I fly into Milan on August 4th and need to get to Munich by August 8th. I would like to take the Bernina Express and then visit 1 or 2 other iconic places while I have the chance to be here.
My current and very open to change plan is
Maybe the Bernina Express isn't all that great, or maybe there are better places to spend my time or explore. I am kind of at a loss, as everything seems almost too beautiful to be real, so maybe there is no wrong answer.
Any recommendations or insights would be greatly appreciated! I am very excited to explore your beautiful country!
(I am very open to any and all advice and activities.)
I land in Milan on Aug 4th and I need to be in Munich Aug 7th. I plan on flying direct from Milan to Munich on the 7th.
The big things I want to see are Lauterbrunnen and The Bernina Express. So my tentative plan is…
8/4 - Land in Milan and train to Lauterbrunnen
8/5 Lauterbrunnen train to Chur
8/6 Chur Train to Tirano
8/7 Tirano Train to Milan airport.
I know it’s a lot and I don’t plan on doing a ton of actual events or activities. For me riding the train is a a big part of my trip just relaxing and looking out the window.
I do want to hop on and off the Bernina Express a few times so I plan on doing the local trains.
My questions are:
Is this absolutely unrealistic?
If it is doable what are some of the big “must dos” along that route?
Thanks for any insight. This is my first time visiting Switzerland and this part of Italy so I’m a bit out of my element.
