When do you hire a professional?

So I’m pretty shit at marketing and sales.

I am a founder recovering with PTSD and find strangers can be quite unkind and absolutely horrifying. I’ve also got chronic illness and full time job which means my energy is not infinite.

I’m pushing my boundaries but I think I need someone to do some of the extroverted-oriented activities I think eg speaking to people for interview and advertising + need someone who has the time and energy for the activity we need.

We have pet health companion app with an web app and now releasing Android mob app in June. We have brand strategy, product roadmap a website a product and a good team of tech lead, designer and product manager.

When do you know it’s time to hire someone?

My concern is a few things

- finding the right person; i’ve looked at upwork and I’ve spoken to a few consultants who are content marketing specialist some of them are quite expensive and some of them. I don’t actually know if I can trust them so I don’t even know how to Vet them if there are any other places that I should be looking at please to let me know.
- Having the funds to do so I am completely bit strapped so I just wanna make sure that if we are spending the money, it’s really worthwhile
- Have I tried enough on my own? Am I not pushing myself enough? I’ve started going to places like cafés to ask them if I could leave leaflets for my app

Salary

Tough question but I wonder how much is the market benchmark for you guys for a junior, senior CSMs? I’m asking because the offers I’m getting via LinkedIn headhunters are very low

In the UK, I’ve about 12 years career in consulting / delivery mgt and CSM and the offers for senior CSMs are low balling at 60-70k OTE or max of 100k.

Has the market price for CSM gone down or is it just my bubble??

Did u guys ask for dna docs when buying/adopting from breeders?

When I got my pup, I asked for proof of some dna tests that I don’t remember what it was in anymore lol. I asked if her parents are "clear" of known genetic diseases… did you do the same or was I being extra?

Adopting a second dog via rescue

I’ve always wanted to get a second Dog guys. I was brought up in our house with more than one dog most of the time. Now that my dog is five years old, I’d like to talk with another dog sooner than later within the year and I’d really prefer it if it was rescue. I got her for a breeder because rescues were very much against doctors living in a rented flat let alone a shared garden. I now have a house with a private garden but I think a lot of of them then asked that you don’t work full-time or you’re always home. Is it just the ones I’ve looked out or do most of them look for the same thing?

Managing vet records, appnts, timeline and meds/vacc reminders

Do you keep it in a folder / binder physically? Do you keep it as a photo or maybe even an app? Do the vets remind you? What have you found that works / doesn’t work?

Looking for inspos!

Marketing for a start-up founder

Guys, I’m very new to the whole marketing thing I was working as a customer success manager and consultant so I could say I am fairly far from marketing. I have come to realise that marketing is the real engine for anything particularly in the age of AI. AI can help with some stuff but if I don’t know what is what then I can moderate or improve the way it works with me so ultimately I really need to get on with learning more about marketing’s

We have a pet start-up in the UK and really want to reach out to people who need their help in managing pet health history.

If you owe me where would you start to study more about marketing? Would you look at case studies? And if so where would you be looking at? And how would you analyse it? AI has told me so much about where to start but I’d rather follow advice of the amazing people are actually well-versed in the topic.

I would really appreciate any suggestions on self studying the path.

Always known and criticised for being clumsy..

Can’t keep track of records and documents - like my dogs vaccinations and bills. I can’t cope with the stress sometimes. She’s had her booster vaccination twice this year because I forgot and miscalculated the 2nd boosters date & vet didn’t remind me either.

How do u all cope with this? I’m in the UK and all the receipts and consultations notes are literally in papers and I’ve lost my dogs vaccinations record 3 times and she’s 5 🥲 I feel like the life is too much for me sometimes…

How do u file them? How do u keep track of your and your pets appointments and stuff? I feel like I’m failing my pup x
