Making friends

So why do a lot of people seem disingenuous when it comes to being friends/staying friends? Some people will tell us "I'll text/call [you guys] later", but they never do--even if I text them to start a conversation; or some people insist we'll stay connected, but when I try to keep the friendship going as we part ways in daily routine, they just don't respond or try.

It's weird to me. It's already difficult making friends when we're autistic, and I get that people can just drift away but in some of the cases it wasn't the case--not on my part anyhow. It's weird. Is it, like, a common allistic thing to just drop friendships easily? Am I being ignorant to shove that label on it? Is it not an autistic-specific issue and I'm overthinking it?

Single bubble when opening canned beans?

So last night I ate some light red kidney beans for dinner; I'm cautious about canned foods usually (avoiding any cans that are dented or bulging). The can was not distended, there was no hissing or foaming when opening them, but there was one glossy/slimy looking bubble, and some of the beans were split before cooking.

I feel stupid asking in retrospect, but do they sound safe to have eaten? The bubble concerned me, but I figured since the beans didn't look slimy in the mucus-y sense, they were probably okay. There was no foul odor or anything so I just drained 'em, rinsed 'em, and seasoned and baked them and had them for dinner.

I mean, I feel fine right now. But again, do they sound safe? The bubble and some of the beans being split already upon opening the can make me wonder, but I could easily be over-anxious about it.
