I got this skirt at the thrift because the texture is perfect for part of my shaak ti costume. However it is beige and I need to dye it red-brown. I have dyed cotton and polyester before but never acetate. The skirt is 56% acetate and 44% rayon. Would rit dye-more work? Any ideas what colors I would combine to get the desired color (circled on the last slide)? Thanks (:
I got these nice pants at the thrift store but wasn't able to try them on until I got home. Now that I have, I realize that when I sit they are really tight at the groin and around the thighs (indicated by the red lines). The material doesn't have any stretch either so there's no wiggle room. I paid $10 for them (ouch) so I really don't want to give up and re-donate them. I think I should be able to put in a gusset of some kind but I'm not sure where to start as I've never done one before. Does anyone have tips or resources they could recommend? Thanks so much (:
I frequently see the "Adonis" doll recommended for rebodying, but now that I have him in hand I don't know if that will be possible. He's at least a full head taller than all my other dolls, I'm pretty bummed because if I customize him he won't fit in with the rest of my display.
I previously had a singer heavy duty and used class 15 bobbins which I know are not compatible with this machine. I was able to order them in packs of 4 on Amazon for fairly cheap so I could have a bobbin for every spool of thread. Is it safe to buy "Bernina compatible" dupes on Amazon or is it important to order directly from Bernina? The only listing I could find online was $6.99 for a single bobbin which is not affordable. I checked wawak but they don't appear to have bobbins compatible with this model. Thanks in advance (:
I edited this on my phone so excuse the poor quality. When my river arrives I plan to repaint her mouth like this so that the corners of her lips line up with the stitch line. I also want to fix her eyebrows but I imagine that will be more involved. She looks so much better just with her lips fixed 😭
I am not experienced with wood carving so it is somewhat clumsy but I tried my best. I carved it out of a piece of maple and then wood burned the design on the front. I also added our initials on the back in aurebesh. Hopefully he likes it (:
