I need to preface this by saying I am NOT a good artist so it’s a mess but I just wanted to get my idea out. I am also Ojibwe so I wanted to reimagine Isi as an Ojibwe character. I was really inspired by strawberries and they are called Heart berries in Ojibwe so I wanted to include Ode in her name so I chose Odelia. I decided to make her trans because only male deers have antlers but I also wanted her to have antlers that kinda formed a heart shape. I was inspired by a ribbon skirt I saw at a powwow so I gave her it. I decided to include ribbons in a lot of aspects of her design because I wanted more colour (I went VERY overboard with it…) but because it adds more to her design and I love flowy elements. Unfortunately I had too much colour and it drew too much attention to the skirt so I had to give her really colourful makeup to balance it out and she looks really messy but um yeah! I wanted to include a lot of hearts in her design as well so some of her spotting on her fur is heart shaped. I gave her some beaded jewellery and a braided leather bracelet. Her design was inspired by a lot of things I saw growing up especially the leather bracelet since I used to have to wear them to help with my anxiety.

she is so baby girl :3333 she didnt turn out EXACTLY as i wanted, the grey long sleeve top was meant to be black and white so i swapped pink socks for these stripey ones, and the beret is smaller than i wanted but we MOVE. she is still very pretty and i looooove her :3

Growing up I wasn't allowed dolls. I remember how bad I used to want them and how much fun I'd have when spending time at my friend's house.

Today at the ripe old age of 29, to celebrate my birthday, I decided to heal a little bit of my inner child by buying my first doll. I spent a while rolling up and down the aisle in my chair trying to decide which doll I'd be taking home before spotting Coraline on the highest shelf – I don't think I've ever asked someone for help grabbing something off a shelf so quickly!

I don't know what the done thing is with the more collectable dolls, but I wanted to take it out of the packaging because I don't care too much because I bought this to heal myself and to bring myself joy. I did make sure I was super careful with the packaging anyway!

All in all, I think buying it has done some healing and I foresee some future damage too, but to my bank account in the form of more dolls!

Mine came with a spot of lip missing and I wasn’t feeling the red lip.

finally got around to making another custom! it’s been forever since i’ve painted a face so i’ve been itching to do one for a while. Abbey has been on my customize list forever bc i love her so much, i’m really happy with how she turned out!

Creepover Twyla was the one who got me into MH, and I've never related to a character more in my life.

I restyled my G3 Cupid and I think she came out really well!! Took me about a week to gather all the materials I needed and the process of sewing/painting/dyeing everything. I have a newfound respect for doll customizers and doll artists
