So I’ve pulled a trigger on OM-5 mkii with kit 14-150.
I was on a market for a compact system cause I have sony a7iv for professional work which I never carry with me unless I get paid to do it.
I had fuji x-t20 as a daily camera and I loved it but sold it cause I thought my iPhone 16 pro is a good enough replacemanet (and technically it is).
I wanted to go back to fuji and almost bought x-t30iii but figured I might get even more portability with mft, especially in the zoom lens field. So I gave it a go.
I usually enjoy shooting with primes and would love to get one for my, not yet shipped, om-5.
I’ve been looking into various options and there always seems to be some drawbacks, i.e.:
- panasonic 20mm f1.7 - google says best of the best in terms of sharpnes but autocofus is loud and too slow - i need fast autofocus cause I will be shooting mostly moving subject
- Panasonic 14mm f/2.5 II ASPH - incam chromatic abb. Correction not supported on OM-5
- Panasonic Leica 15mm f/1.7 DG Summilux - expensive but it’s DJI rebrand might be fine - not sure how it works on OM
- Olympus 17mm f/2.8 Pancake - might be a bit slow and internet says it is not very sharp
Please help me choose ot give other reccomentations.
I want a camera that can fit in my fanny pack and has max f of 2.8
Edit: I am open for a compact faster zoom too. And no manual lenses.
