[West Michigan, Lower Peninsula] 2 ft snake with blotches (with pics)
My dad was startled by this snake on our new property. West Michigan property with a neighboring creek and very well draining soil, lots of nearby farmland. First snake I've seen since I moved in this year. The snake is about 2 feet, no rattler, and the head has a hood-like feature that was expanded. Hissing with a black tongue that has 2 white stripes. I have also noticed small holes in the ground around the yard, unsure if related.
