I (17M) have known my classmate (17F) for about 2 years and we have gotten closer recently we talk and text most days, joke around and have decent energy together. I've liked her for about 2 months now but I genuinely can't tell if the feelings are mutual or if I'm misreading friendship for something more. The thing that's been sitting in my head is that she's Hindu and I'm agnostic. I've heard that for some Hindu families it's a deal breaker and I don't want to make a move and have it blow up and ruin our chances not just romantically but also ruin what we already have as friends. How do I figure out if she likes me back without being too obvious, and how much of a factor would the religious difference be.
