Is it weird to reach out to someone I met once 8-9 months ago after seeing them on Instagram?
Back in November I matched with this guy on Snapchat. We talked for a couple of days and then met up in his city, just walked around and talked, nothing more. It was really nice.
Afterwards I deleted most of my social media for personal reasons, TikTok was the only thing I kept, so that’s where we stayed in contact. At some point he told me his parents had found someone for him (arranged situation) and that he didn’t want to “ruin his chances” with that, but basically wanted to keep his options open with me too. I wasn’t comfortable with that, so I took a step back and went off social media entirely.
That was 8-9 months ago. I got Instagram yesterday and he came up as a suggested person. Honestly? I’d like to try again, but only if he’s actually free/single now.
My questions:
1. Is it weird to reach out after this long, especially since we only met once?
2. How do I message him without it being awkward or coming across as desperate?
3. Do you think he even remembers me?
For what it’s worth, the one time we met felt genuinely good, and I’ve thought about it since. Just unsure if I’m overthinking this or if it’s worth going for.
