This is why certain home office arrangements just seem out of place unaware to people

I have observed an aspect of home office solutions, including mine.

One can add things easily as time goes by. Additional cables, a second monitor, miscellaneous items used to enhance comfort or order. The desk begins to get very congested, too fast, and this may be the case though at first it seemed to be a good idea.

..I was not any different. i even had at one time a set of old cordless telephones on my desk simply because I thought I might need them. I never even opened them, yet they remained there.

It was the same case with smaller fixes such as the organizers, cable management tools. Others were cheap things found in sites such as alibaba. Some assisted temporarily, some did not actually resolve the underlying messiness and eventually merely contributed more visual noise.

…I have discovered that the general impression of the workspace is more altered with subtraction rather than addition. As soon as i minimized everything to the bare minimum and all that i needed was a laptop, a single monitor, and a proper chair, the room appeared much more relaxed and focused on.

Wondering whether other people had the same experience or have discovered another balance that would be more effective.

Are DIP switches still used in modern electronics or are they outdated?

I overheard two students having this heated argument in the garden near my department. i was sitting at the far end, trying to read but i kept getting distracted by their conversation. Since no one else was saying anything about it, i decided to mind my business.

It was a bit annoying, but i ended up listening because they were talking about something i've always been curious about, DIP switches.

..i've seen DIP switches sitting around in my dad's workspace before and assumed they were outdated but it wasn't the case.

and that was actually the argument between the two students, One said it was outdated, the other insisted it's currently used only in specific situations and very much used in modern electronics. just not mainstream anymore neither obsolete.

…i totally get the two sides, DIP switches are considered outdated because they belong to the pre-software era of configuration. From what i gathered (and a little explanation my dad made.) they are still useful because they don't suddenly crash, freeze or need updates like new ones.

when I checked them out, their availability on sites like amazon even down to alibaba showed that people still use it and stuff, but this is just my opinion. What's yours? Do you think it's outdated or something we can still work with without much crap?

Hi! Any advice on what CC I would consider if I'm not employed. I have a small photocopy business, don't have ITR, I just have DTI and Brgy. Business Permit. Do I have to start a deposit account first?

I visited an outdoor shop to find fleece for camping two days ago. I wanted something good for layering. I also wanted comfort and warmth. But when I checked the products I felt disappointed. Some were too thick. Some were light but not warm. I could not trust them. I could not decide confidently.

Then I visited another shop in the same area. Some products looked better but layering use was unclear. Some were affordable but not practical. Some seemed perfect at first but did not work well in cold. I remembered I used fleece before that was not good for layering. That made me hesitate even more.

To check more variety and options while scrolling many online marketplaces including alibaba I found many fleece products. Some looked perfect for layering. Some were simple and low price. Some had better warmth and flexibility. There were many options available. This made me excited but also confused again.

it feels that I go out of mind when I have huge number of options. Now I am thinking should I trust online layering guides or local stores for real camping use? What would you do in my place?
