Anyone used Bubble Charge?

I saw an as for this website where folks with EV charging at their home can list their charger. Then anyone with an EV can see it on the app and book a time to use it. Both the charger owner and the user gain ‘bubble points’ (redeemable for rewards in a future update).

I live in a rural area with a nearby provincial park that gets a lot of tourists in the summer. Aside from Nema 5-15s (standard wall outlet) there’s no EV charging around. The closet fast charger is 65km (50 minutes away). I’ve got a nema 14-50, Grizzl-E, and a detached garage (so I could move the charging holster to the outside and build it a weather protection box. Then folks could pull into my driveway and charge whenever.

I like the idea of providing infrastructure and also earning so rewards. However, I’m nervous that the rewards are still TBD and coming in a future update. I wouldn’t want a bunch of folks to drive up my hydro bill just for the rewards to not be worthwhile or for the whole platform to go under.

TLDR; anyone here used Bubble Charge? Have thoughts? Are there other apps doing the same thing? Based in Ontario

Can the city not afford road paint?

I’m new to North Bay and oh my god the roads suck. Paint and lines seem to be a luxury… if you’re lucky maybe you can detect the remanence of a line from years past.

Is this street two lanes?
Is this on street parking?
Is this a turn only lane?
Can that guy get on his side of the asphalt before I need to jump the curb?

Like seriously I’ve never seen a town in Ontario like this before. Do they just not give a fu**?

Hi y’all,
As of this week I’m an EV driver (🎉). In addition to the level 1 charging, I can do level 2 charging at home (also have Grizzl-E on the way to save some cents!).

However, for those times I do use a public charger, is there anything to note? Are certain providers known to be pricey or cheap? Does anyone have preferences?

I’m based in Ontario if that helps.

Thank you in advance

As the title says.

I've had my scuf for a long time, about ten years give or take two years. It still works great, generally speaking. The issue with it is that there's no bluetooth so I rely on a micro usb connection. After a decade, my scuf's usb portussy is loose. I've used a variety of different cables, they all wiggle causing frequent disconnects.

Scuf's website seems to say that they are not accepting out of warranty controllers for repair right now. Does anyone know a service I could go to? Here's what I'm interested in (escalating from bare necessity to wish list):

  1. Just repair / replace the micro USB port to stop the wiggles and related disconnects

  2. Replace the current micro USB port with a USB-C port so I can step into the modernity

  3. #2 and add Bluetooth

  4. #3 and deep clean it

Anyone have suggestions or is it time to lay my goat to rest after a decade of service
