Can I get the police to check someone's phone?
I (21F) was walking back home from the metro station and I'm pretty sure a guy clicked my picture. I saw the flash of his phone go off and the way he held his phone and then tilted it to look at the screen.
I walked a few more steps and stood there, thinking of confronting him and I know I should've, but dumb me, who thinks that if I ever face this type of situation, I will speak up, couldn't when it actually happened. At the moment, I also thought that maybe it didn't happen and I must be hallucinating but I keep replaying that moment in my head and I'm 99% sure it was real.
I don't want my mom to know about this incident. She is not conservative but just a bit restrictive, so it's not like she will forbid me from going out, but she will definitely try to stop me from going out. Basically, before I go out, she says stuff like, "aaj kal log ladkiyo pr jaadu tona kar dete hai, unhe pta bhi nahi chalte aur unhe utha le jaate" and all. (Translation- These days, people use black magic on girls, and they don’t even realize it before being taken away.)
She would not outright say no, but it feels discouraging when she says these things. I don't share much about my life with my mom, as I just feel that most of the time she would react in a way that I would not like, and then we would start fighting, which I want to avoid.
I want to get the police to check that guy's phone without anyone at my home knowing about this, so is it possible? I know the exact location and time it happened. Is there any way I can file a complaint online?
