Hey Indianapolis my Midwest made movie "Winter Hymns" is coming to you for a limited engagement at Flix Brewhouse in Carmel May 17-20

Hi Indianapolis, somebody in the Carmel subreddit told me to post this here as well - I'm a filmmaker from Wisconsin very interested in making movies right here in the Midwest. I can see you don't like self/art promotion in the sub rules but hopefully this can be one of the exceptions if you'll let me - people have been really connecting with this film if they hear about it.

"Winter Hymns" is about a palliative care doctor meeting with dying patients and is based on my dad's work. It's been doing really well in Wisconsin so Flix decided to expand it to neighboring states - I'm excited about it coming to Indiana to see if you connect with it as much as Wisconsin audiences.

The movie was shot in WI and the entire cast is from the Midwest. I think there's a lot of familiar characters you'll see in this movie that are in both our states - farmers being bought out by giant corporations, young people struggling to raise a family (while also having a terminal illness...). It's a heavy film but very unique and so far people have been digging it and I hope you do too! Tickets are at the Flix website.

"Winter Hymns" is about a palliative care doctor meeting with dying patients and is based on my dad's work. It's been doing really well in Wisconsin so Flix decided to expand it to neighboring states - I'm especially excited about Iowa because my mom's from Elkader and my whole side of the family is there.

Like the title - this film premiered at the Wisconsin Film Festival just less than a month ago, and since then things have been snowballing. Really excited by the reception we've got so far because audiences in Madison and Wisconsin were exactly who I wanted to reach with this film. You can read more about it at Isthmus or check out our website but I hope you can check us out and support a local film!
