We’re looking for someone clean, responsible and easygoing who would enjoy a peaceful home environment. The current flatmates are calm, respectful and mostly mind their own business, so we’d prefer someone with a similar vibe who isn’t into loud parties or frequent late-night scenes at home :)

No interference from landlords and no brokerage fee as well!

Bought my first house in Bangalore and now I’m financially stressed — did I make a mistake?

I grew up in a lower middle class family and there were many times during childhood when we struggled financially — delayed school fees, skipping school picnics because we couldn’t afford them, sometimes even worrying about food. Because of that, owning a house always felt like “security” to my parents.

I’m now in my early 30s, unmarried, and have been living in Bangalore for around 8 years. In 2024, my parents strongly pushed me to buy a house. I ended up booking a 1600 sq ft 2BHK duplex apartment in Budigere for 84L. At that time, I was earning around 1.2L/month. The EMI itself is 50k, and I was also paying 13k rent where I currently stay, so saving money became difficult.

Last year I switched jobs and now make around 1.7L/month, which is better, but after all expenses I still only managed to save around 11L. Now the flat is ready to move in, but registration + TDS + other charges are coming up to around 8.3L, and basic interiors will cost another 5L minimum.

I’m honestly getting very stressed and wondering whether this was the right decision. Part of me feels I should be happy because I finally own something in Bangalore and I do plan to settle here long term. But another part of me feels trapped financially.

I also have company stocks vesting in July worth around 8L after taxes. My original plan was to hold them longer and let them grow, but now I’m wondering if I should liquidate them to handle these upcoming costs.

Also adding that my parents have no savings since they used up all their money for our education, my dad works a basic 20k a month job, my siblings who work abroad and myself help with all their expenses.

I’m even planning to rent out one room in the duplex to help with EMI.

Am I overthinking this? Has anyone else gone through something similar after buying their first home? Should I continue with this or consider selling before moving in?

My friend (25F) and I (25F) have been best friends for about 7 years. We were inseparable growing up and always there for each other through everything. We had a few silly fights in school, but nothing major—we always made up.

When she got married, we drifted apart for about 3 years. Later, when she was going through a divorce, I was there for her again and we became close like before. We've both supported each other through some really tough times.

Last year, we mutually decided to start a travel page on Instagram together. We posted a few reels and even got some followers. We agreed we’d share the content on our personal accounts for reach—but she was hesitant to share from her page because she felt embarrassed and thought it was too soon.

After that, we went on our third international trip together. Unfortunately, we both fell sick during the trip, and there were some misunderstandings on both sides. After that, we stopped talking properly. We would occasionally text, but it felt very formal and distant compared to before. Around that time, she also got into a new relationship.

Recently, we reconnected, met up, and things seemed good again. But when I asked her when we could meet next, she didn’t respond.

Then last month, I saw that she started her own public Instagram page—without telling me. She’s actively sharing it on her personal account too. The next day, she casually texted me saying, “I started a new page for fun.”

This really bothered me because when we had our joint page, she didn’t even want to share it, but now she’s promoting her own. It makes me feel weird and honestly a bit hurt, like our idea didn’t matter to her the same way.

Am I overreacting here? I’ve already followed her new page, but I can’t shake this feeling. Part of me wishes I had just started my own page too.
