First time home buyer. I am reaching out to ask for recommendations on a whole house surge protector that will protect my appliances and most importantly my heat pump. Recently, I had a power surge from my electrical company thought blew my heat pump compressor causing me thousands in repair. I would like to get a whole house surge protector so this never happens to me again & so I don’t lose other appliances like my fridge, etc. What do you have for me? Thanks !

I currently have a 1974 house with pink insulation in the walls. How can I add more insulation to the walls without tearing off every wall? Also, would I see more improvement by adding more insulation to the walls or insulating the rim joists?

Edit: I already air sealed & re-insulated my attic and attached garage ceiling. New windows in 2022. New insulated garage doors for attached garage this year as well
