i used to listen to three hour podcasts from the usual optimization gurus (huberman, fridman, etc) and pause every 10 minutes to write down supplements or protocols in my notes app.

It took me a year to realize I never, ever read those notes again. it was entirely performative. I was doing data entry to feel productive.

I stopped taking manual notes entirely. if i hear a protocol I actually want to try, i send the youtube link to recall and let it rip the transcript and build a spaced repetition quiz in the background. I don't organize it. if i actually need the info a month later, i just ask the chat interface "what was that magnesium protocol?" and it kind of just pulls it.

Stop acting like a stenographer for podcasts. Just capture the link and move on with your life.
