Hi, so I am starting to prep for CGL 2027 exam

Maths has always been my strongest part, I am able to solve questions in standard way but I don't know short tricks to solve questions in minimum time

can u suggest best maths faculty I shd watch for tricks to solve problems

is there any chance or should I just skip typing test

Gave SSC CGL twice already. Last attempt was my first serious one and had actually covered the syllabus properly, but still couldn’t clear Tier 1.

Since then, I’ve been continuously preparing for banking & insurance exams so my basics are good now ( ik syllabus varies especially quant)

Planning to give CGL again this year, but this time with full focus. Syllabus is already done from before just needs strong revision + lots of practice.

Do you guys think this is enough to crack Tier 1 this time? Or is there something more I should be doing?

I’ve been selected as a GST Inspector and there’s a good chance I’ll be posted in Mumbai and I am from Maharashtra . I wanted to connect with people who are currently working (or have worked) in Mumbai.

I had a few questions:

• What’s the typical work profile and workload like in Mumbai zones?
• How much does rent usually cost near offices? (1RK/1BHK in decent areas)
• Which areas do most inspectors prefer staying in?
• How’s the daily commute? Is local train unavoidable?
• Approx monthly expenses for a single person?
• Any tips for someone moving to Mumbai for the first time?

Also, if you have any general advice or things you wish you knew before joining, I’d really appreciate it.

i have SC reservation,maths and englsh are my strong sections,but im literally getting no marks for General Studies,how do i prepare for GS?

It's getting so popular here that people are giving their so-called "first" mocks. I know it may be possible to get such a good score even if you haven't prepared even for a day. But legit people are getting 150+ in their mocks?!

Why are people catfishing here? I know man this ain't your first mock, or maybe a person who was preparing for CAT or UPSC CSE giving their first mocks and calling it how they formed a basic understanding here.

Can y'all just stop pretending this? Because idk about other people but yes for some people it might be somewhat demotivating to see someone getting 150+ in mocks (without even properly preparing for it).

And yes guys I understand getting 80-100 is even possible if you've prepared any two subjects in the past. But damn man 150+ is just not digestible 😭

22M, corporate job (Software Engineer) at a startup. I’m considering appearing for CGL this year. I had prepared for it last year as well but didn’t take the exam due to confusion about whether to continue in the corporate path.

On one hand, the corporate job offers good money and potential benefits and many opportunities in the future, I can take a WFH job after some time. However, I have realized over the past 1.5 years (internship and full-time experience) that I don’t enjoy coding. I find myself dragging through work every day and the pressure is quite high.

Because of this, I have started leaning toward giving CGL this year. But I’m stuck between choosing financial growth in the corporate sector and the stability of a government job.

Need your opinions on what you guys will do in my place.

Which has more cost-benefit ratio and can be done in less time?

I will do Parmar sir's latest PYQ series on YT. Should I go with lucent or parmar sir lectures? Pls suggest. Also tell pros and cons of both as per you pov.

does anyone have contacted ssc regarding the exam date/city change after the official timeline for doing so, got elapsed.

I have a valid reason. It would be very thankful if anyone of you were contacted ssc anyway regarding these, and ssc considered it. pls share the right procedure. email/call/ tagging on twt etc.

on email, they were not responding - however last time, when I called/emailed them previous time regarding non acceptance of my application due to wrong fee update (pending - even after the payment was successful) in their system AFTER THE APPLICATION deadline.

On call, they said they cant do anything then, (as last date is over)

but I also emailed, luckily after 2 months, when I checked, it has been showing accepted. so, I missed the exam city/date locking option also.

Reason for exam city/date: I have another exam on the same date and its 100's kilometers away between two centers. Now 15 days left for it from today.

So, checking if anyone have any suggestions.

Idk if it is due to sertraline. I'm one week on this antidepressant and yesterday I had a breakdown. I was so sad and I cried and I was so so so sad, I kept mumbling "I don't wanna be lonely. I want friends. I am sad . Iam alone. And i was rubbing my body and throat and tears were not stopping and I felt my head light. I was laying on the ground with my back on the wall because I slipped initially.

In all of that I had this impulse... I tried to self strangulate myself. 2 times . It felt like my face was full of blood and I felt dots on my face inside and for a second I felt light.

I stopped it because I was conscious, I knew what I was doing.

I couldn't sleep till 4 am. Then somehow I did and woke up at 9am . My eyes burned.

I decided to go out. To chill. Maybe that will help me ease a bit?

So I'm out now, alone because I have no friends to go with. I'm going to a museum. I remember that a few months ago on my bday I wanted to go there but then also i didn't have anyone I could go with, though I could have gone alone then but it sucked on a birthday.

Today I'm going and hoping things will feel a little easier for me mentally. Idk what I'm doing but whatever it is I'm just doing it to be happy, to be at peace.

My dad seemed worried because yesterday I fainted (not fainted but I felt dizzy and I acted as I fainted to feel cared for) 2 times in the morning and evening.

Mom is upset and said do what you want and don't tell me. She is making it about herself , ik she is also not well physically and mentally. But I'm her child... She could have been gentle.

Idk if I'm being too much , idk if I'm acting all of this , idk what I'm doing , idk why I'm acting this way. Idk if I'm actually okay and doing all this for attention?.

I'm so tired. So so tired.

I want to live happily.
