I’m wondering if these rashes could be pityriasis rosea. I first noticed a larger patch on my upper leg and chest (the one that looks more merged) about a month ago. Then, many smaller rashes started appearing very recently as shown in the pictures. They are mainly on my chest, back (up to my neck), upper arms, and upper legs.
At first, I thought it might be ringworm, so I tried using clotrimazole, but it didn’t help. My girlfriend hasn’t developed anything similar, which makes me think it might not be ringworm.
The larger patches itch a bit, but not severely, and if I try to ignore it, the itching doesn’t seem to worsen. The smaller spots don’t really itch.
I occasionally take antihistamines for pollen allergies, but they don’t seem to have any effect on the rash.
I haven’t seen a dermatologist yet because it’s quite expensive where I live, and I’m also worried about a possible misdiagnosis. From what I’ve read, if it is pityriasis rosea, there’s not much in terms of treatment anyway.
Does this sound consistent with pityriasis rosea, or could it be something else? Any advice would be appreciated.
