Repeat year 10 to move to boarding school
I am S(15M) Born in Jan of 2011 and I have a father F(50M) who has a strong dementia (alzheimers) and I have the option to move from Hong Kong to boarding school in the UK (where I am from, family there too) to continue my education. My mother M(50M) has signed me up for these by emailing a letter to boarding schools we are interested in. My mother has done this with me because she has been told by teachers and myself that the stress of having to take care of my father has been impacting my grades a lot. We have just been told by all of them that in order for me to join I would have to do year 10 again, doing GCSE's not IGCSE's. I am worried because of my age gap and the fact I will be a new, older kid. I guess what I need help to answer is if I should stay in my school now, or should I start the process of going to boarding school. I have my IGCSE Year10 mocks in about 2 1/2 weeks so would need to decide soon. Any advice welcome.
