Sports diet and Fitness diet are 2 completely different things and people do not understand it
The 2000kcal rule with 1.5x bw protein and ...... yk what I am talking about; It is the general 'I have recently joined the gym and trynna bit fit' diet. Which is very correct and works very well in most cases. BUT,
Coming from a powerlifting background, the absolute frowns I get from people when I tell them I eat 500gm of carbs a day on a 3200kcal diet makes me laugh so much. People still believe that more carbs make you fat and more protein makes you buff.
Similarly the amount of people who do not know how bodybuilders eat very differently from a normal fitness enthusiast is baffling. Have you seen their water intake during seasonal stages?
There is a difference of light and day between the diets of an endurance runner and a sprinter. IN THE SAME TYPE OF SPORT. Cyclists are chugging sugar drinks mid race to boost their energy reserves and most people would just classify that as "unfit"
Before giving your advice to someone or judging someone on how they eat or lift, just know that there are things you do not know about their training style, their sport of practice, and their off-season lifestyle.
