I can highly recommend this build to parents. It's made from 2 Ikes Trofast storage units with a custom-cut HPL tabletop.
Result = all the LEGO in one place + no more scratches on the dining table.
Asked ChatGP for color advice based on my floor. It suggested the sage/anthracite/white.
I wrapped the doors ,painted the baseboards anthracite and and installed alupanel panels against the back wall.
Happy with the result.
Ik kon geen afscheid nemen van dit blok. Mijn pa kwam met het idee om er een bijzettafel van te maken. Ben begonnen met het motorblok strippen en alles schoonmaken te maken. Vervolgens ben ik gaan zandstralen en poedercoaten. Natuurlijk moesten de zuigertjes in dezelfde kleur worden gespoten. Tot slot een plexiglas tafelblad erop gemonteerd en klaar is kees. Nu hopen dat mijn vriendin het goed vindt als ik dit kunstwerk in de woonkamer zet.
My boat had a broken window and the others were due for replacement too, so I pulled out all the old window rubbers. I couldn't order the windows anywhere, so I ended up making them myself out of polycarbonate. Really proud of how it turned out.
Gave my Ikes Kallax a makeover. First I raised it up with a wooden base to get some extra height. Then painted the whole thing black. After that I made wooden doors and covered them with 3mm mirrored plexiglass. The mirrored effect makes the room feel much lighter and more spacious. It took some time, but I'm really happy with the result.
