Family told my kid Taylor Swift Worships the Devil
So a little bit of background information-I come from a very Southern Baptist Conservative family. I still follow Christianity, but have drifted far from how they worship due to church trauma and past experiences. Anyway, my husband mentioned that he and my kiddo (5) were listening to a Taylor Swift song on the radio and my child mentioned that they don't like Taylor Swift because she worships the devil. When he asked where that was heard, my child told him that my 10 year old niece told her that. The only way my niece would even come up with that is from misinformation from either my step-mom or my dad. (They watch a lot of YouTube and tiktok AI/propaganda stuff) This also happened to me as a child. For example I couldn't watch a certain children's movie because they read that the original writer meant it as a way to mind control kids into believing in Satan and overthrowing God.
So my question is, do I bring this up to my parents or do I keep it to myself? I'm really frustrated because I never want to force any kind of views onto my child especially when it comes to religion considering my background with it. My husband had a conversation with our kiddo already explaining that we can't believe everything people tell us and that sort of thing. I just feel like this was a really big overstep and completely inappropriate to say to/around kids.
