Version 2 of my DEX machine

Same S20 plus brains but this time with a better docking station, larger case (a plastic project box) and it kept the screen and chassis.

Having the screen rather than going 'headless' is just handy. You know exactly what is going on.

I'm also having another go at going 'batteryless'.

(My 15 year old Dremel was KIA making this. RIP trusty friend).

I'm actually not sure what to call this as it isn't really a sim rig but this is my budget friendly story so far with GT7 on my PS5...

I started with a T98 wheel and pedals. It felt cheap and not very responsive. Basically not much better than a controller.

So searching on ebay, I found a T300 wheel which I grabbed for a bargain £73 delivered.

I managed to get the T300 pedals for £32 delivered.

I tried them out but the pedals also felt off somehow. Just the feeling was wrong.

So I grabbed some 'faulty' TLCM pedals for £63 delivered because apparently the brake pedal stuck on.

When it arrived it was missing the RJ12 (?) link cable so I had to buy that for another £15.

Anyway, I took it apart, and reassembled checking all the connections on the surprisingly very small and no visible damage pcb.

And it worked.

I already had a cheap folding 'rig' thingy that I had bought on FB marketplace a couple of years ago for £40.

So I mounted my TLCM pedals and T300 steering wheel and honestly, it like night and day compared to the T98.

My 'rig' (I wouldn't really call it that) set me back £220.

Here' some photos after I mounted the pedals and before mounting the steering wheel.

I have an HP Omen which I hadn't used for a year.

Its a HP Omen 15-EN with an RTX 2060 and i7 10750h

It was working before that.

Now it won't switch on. I've checked the power supply and its supplying 20v.

I've opened it up, disconnected the battery and reconnected.

I've tried the 60 second power button press.

I've tried switching it on without the battery connected.

I've checked that the power port is working with a multimeter.

I've reseated the RAM.

All I get is three flashes of the white led by the power port.

I'm out of ideas - can anyone help?
