Bravia 9 display model at the local Best Buy?

An associate at my local Best Buy says whenever they get the updated Bravia 9ii they will sell the display model - the 85 inch. It’s been running 12 hours a day on max brightness in vivid mode for 2 years.

What would be a reasonable price to buy it for given its condition? $2000 USD? I would have to buy it with the Best Buy extended warranty for peace of mind. I’ve been eyeing this for months.

Alternatives to the Bravia 9 that I should consider?

So I’m pretty set on the Bravia 9 although I do keep getting curious about the G5 OLED.

It needs to be an 85 inch (that’s what I’m coming from and don’t want to go smaller). I’m in an open room with fairly large windows which is why I’m staying away from OLED.

I am coming from the Sony x950h which was the flagship tv in 2020. It’s held up very well despite a scratch from one of my kids and a trapped dust particle (pictured) that you can only see on bright scenes. Despite some of the drawbacks with this dated tech I don’t see any blooming or contrast or color issues.

I’ve been eyeing the Bravia 9 for some time now - it seems to be the natural upgrade from this TV. Should I just pull the trigger or wait for the refresh from Sony. It’s a 2 year old model. Or should I consider something else?
